Nightlies vs ASOP

nboley2

Newbie
I have been running the Cyanogen Nightlies pretty much since they've been out. Recently I have been having some issues with them, lag and what not. I have been doing a little bit of reading about the ASOP Rom. What does everyone recommend and if you could give pros and cons that'd be great. Thanks!

AOSP works really well. I came from CM6 and am very please with the switch. really cant think of any cons. AOSP takes up a little less space so thats always a plus

IMO AOSP stock as is I find is great, fast, no lag, and very little issues. :cool:

Pros
CM6=customizations:)
aospMod=speed, and lots of it:p

Cons
CM6= slower than aosp
aospMod=for me the only drawback to the rom is, once the the rom is set up, 30mb less internal memory than CM6

Crazy Hot Sexy Speed......

Why not flash....if you don't love it...Nan back!
i want speed!

arrghhh i want speeeeeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! should i revert to andy's setting up aosp thread or did you have something different in mind mahalocat?

HAHA....I run Stock Kernal OC's to 768 (phone is fine on it) and underclocked at 176....(no lag issues. - Scaling interactive. Basically if you touch the phone the sensors pick it up and get it ready to go.....on Demand CPU doesn't rev up until a button is pushed.

I enable JIT...my phone is FINE with it...others not so much.
Can walk you through JIT in AOSP - not as easy as it is in CM6

When I ran AOSP it ran alot smoother and faster than the nightlies but I found one major deal breaker with the AOSP rom. When I tried to stream music from Mspot or Pandora the music would start to stutter and ultimately freeze my phone to the point where I would have to pull my battery. It was almost as if my CPU was being maxed out or something but I couldn't tell, so I went back to the CM6 rom for the time being.

No issues on Pandora or TuneIn Radio....streaming works great..
were you Oc'd - what was you scaling set to?

Using the 'setting up aosp' is just fine:D All the links are up to date;)

@MahaloCat - I wasn't running the overclock widget or setcpu just the rom as is. But I Reflashed ASOP back on my phone yesterday and the Music streaming has been running just fine so far.
