Nightlies Vs. RC1

Can I enable JIT and not have an overclock kernal installed? What does JIT do exactly and will it help improve speed w/o overclocking?

Yea I'm on RC1... I was thinking about flashing over top the new 818 nightly, can I still use JIT?

Yes you can, I just flashed 818:) Flashed 817 last night and had a big improvement. Try 818, I had serious lag on the RC1. Nandroid, wipe cache and davlik and flash, then flash the uncapped. Almost a broken record!! I think the nightlies are getting better, well, every night

Sounds good! Thanks. I'm going to flash the kernal and 818 and see what I get.

I'm still not able to do the battery tweak, whenever I'm in the terminal I get the permission denied (are you root?) error. I flashed the uncapped kernal, not seeings whats wrong

Edit: Nevermind, had to all the terminal to have the superuser permissions... going to play with it a bit and go.... to... bed! thanks for all the help andy

No worries:)

2 small issues:

1. Whenever I'm in an application like the browser using the keyboard I cannot see what I'm writing in portrait or landscape. Its like the screen doesn't orient itself for me to view what I'm typing, anyone esle experiencing this on 818? I don't believe I saw this using RC1.

2. The native email app does not work, anyone had any luck with it. The yahoo app from the market is so useless compared to the native email app.

Other than that, 818 with the custom kernal and the battery tweak is working snappy and nice.

Have not tried writing, now that you say that! I will let you know
Nope, everything ok here, I'm using swiftkey, btw

is swift key a different keyboard? I'm using smart keyboard pro and I was really hoping I could use the HTC_IME keyboard I already had but it FCs everytime, know where I can find an HTC_IME keyboard or the Swiftkey KB apk?

Don't know if a new keyboard is going to solve my issue, just tried the stock android KB, same issue.

Anyone know if we're getting to the end of the road for these nightlys? the 820 update fixed a lot of small bugs that I've noticed, the biggest one to me was that it didnt take forever and a day for the widget options to come up on the homescreen. Big plus!

RC2 will probably come soon, I've pretty much had no issue at all since I flashed the 812. Flashed every nightly since. Other than the market issue for me, this rom is awesome! I think I could solve the market issue with a complete wipe, but it does not bother me. No complaints here.:)

I see. Even tho flashing nightlys is completely easy and not a big bother to me, I just want a solid (final) product of of Froyo for our Hero (for now). Only issue I've had is also the Market Issue but not a huge deal, but could become one if I want an app and the error comes up again.

I know I'll be looking forward to RC2

no 826 out yet? I've been kind of holding off on flashing a new ROM, but I was interested in trying 826 but its not showing up in the link yet, hope it has some good improvements

are you running 825? do you get flash lite in the browser? This is a feat I love in Fresh's ROMs, but the current Froyo browser (stock) shows no flash on any site, big downer for me.
