Root NIghtly's

I run across Roms, Gapps, and Kernels that say nightly's in them. What is this? Is it a developer or is there something special about it???

Nightlies just mean the developer is releasing his ROM as he makes (relatively minor) changes to it.

They are not as stable as final releases and you could literally find yourself flashing new versions of the ROM nightly (hence the name)

Also, kernels usually will never be nightlies, as they develop, newer kernels will be released. As well as GApps, more or less GApps will be updated as needed. Some GApps can sometimes be rom specific but most are usually universal to 2.2, 2.3, 4.0

Nightlies are different. Some developers like CM or Myn have a buildbot build each nightly, as commits are added then a new nightly is built but sometimes commits don't necessarily change alot from nightlies to nightlies. There are also developers who use SVN, like joelz or virus. Once you have SVN setup, then you can add those commits to your rom without having to flash an entire new build.
