Root Nintendo DS and Wireless Tether

Lurker
Does anyone know if it is possible to use the wireless tether utility with the nintendo ds lite. I have tried it with and without a wep key and with and without access control, but I always get error code 51300 or 51301. I don't know if this is because it seems like there is still some sort of mac filtering (which is not supported by the ds) even when access control is disabled. Is there anyway to preapprove a certain mac address or has anyone been able to get their wifi connection to work with the ds?

My guess would be that ds does not support ad hoc connections. Same as you can't tether one android phone to another. Search the internet and see if ds supports ad hoc

OMJ is probably right. I mean, considering the DS Lite doesn't even have full support for infrastructure-mode WiFi in that it can't connect to WPA or WPA2 protected access points (this always irked me), I doubt they'd even consider ad hoc.

Strangely enough, my son's Nintendo DSi doesn't regard the tethered network as an adhoc network, but as a regular network with WEP protection. My son wanted to try if he could connect the DSi to my phone and it worked just fine. While the DSi connects to networks with WPA protection, all DSi games won't, instead only accepting WEP. This is easily done with the Desire, so I suggest you give it a try!

Now my boys DSi's won't find my Hero running 2.2 Froyo they don't even see it when I search for it.

Any suggestions?

As am I having issues with tethering my 3DS on my rooted Sumsung moment.
It comes up in the access point and I can fill in my passphrase.
But when I connect I get error 003-1101
Anyone have any suggestions?
