Root No Data Connection

So I rooted my Moto Droid a few months back. Running 2.1 and all seemed well. I decided to trade it on Craigs List a couple of weeks ago. Before the exchange I did a factory reset. The guy I traded it to seemed honest and certainly didn't know much about hacking on the phone. Anyhow he told me he couldn't get a data connection (wifi did work though). He took it to a Verizon store and naturally they said it had been hacked and that was the problem.

I traded him back (Palm Pre sucked anyway). I figured I could just get it back up and running. But I'm definitely only getting wifi connection. Market will NOT log me in no matter what.

Any suggestions? Is the phone now dead?

The phone is far from dead although since he took it to VZW its probably flagged in their system.


Have you tried flashing another rom or changing the kernel? Or updating the PRL by dialing *22899

I just did that *22899 as well as a battery pull and all seems well now.
