Root No longer needed

The fix is in the video. That is why I didn't start over when I screwed up and did it wrong. I wanted to show the fix. You have to clear data then grant storage permission BEFORE you go back and open the app and try again.

I also forgot to mention that cm13 doesn't come with busybox which is required for the app to work. Not sure what kind of crack is being smoked by Cyanogen Inc.

Boot into recovery and flash busybox then the BrokenSwitcher app will work.
You can get twrp flashable busybox from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929852

Get the one shown in this screenshot.
Edit: for some reason the screenshot didn't upload...you want to get the busybox 1.24 stericson zip which is the second download link.

Hello I'm using the grand max+ with pre rooted lolipop rom.
I tried the switcher app it went to twrp. I went into file manager and deleted the folder, then I went to apps, clicked on broken switcher to delete the data but there wasn't any data. The count was 0 with no option to delete. There was stuff in the cache though so I deleted that but I got the same results. I tried it three times no luck.

You have to have busybox installed and you can't already be switched when you pull the images or the app will do everything the opposite of how it is supposed to. The app pulls raw images of your boot and recovery partitions and the boot partition image gets named boot.img and the recovery partition image gets named recovery.img. If you have those two partitions switched out already when you pull the images then the file names will be wrong and the switch button will restore and the restore button switch.

yes I have busy box installed. I used root checker pro to verify that busybox and super su was installed correctly. I never used the switcher zips. I'm in read only mode.

Also can you get me an adb logcat ? That is the only way I can't truly tell what is going on.

sure...I`m portuguese so I understand spanish, he said his phone is bricked and it says unable to mount system, and he asks if it can be fixed or not...but he needs to be more specific and describe the problem with some more details so we can help.

Did he use my app? If so tell him to try hitting the restore button

...now in English:

Can you tell us which phone model you have (Zmax Z970 ? ) And what were you doing when the problem started? If you were using the "Broken Switcher " then you must try the "Restore " button to set the partitions back to the correct locations

If his phone says unable to mount system then my best guess is that when he tries to reboot system the phone is booting into twrp, which it is supposed to do when you are switched and "reboot system". When you boot into twrp while the phone is still switched, it will say "unable to mount system" because it is trying to mount /system as r/w which it can only do when it is not switched.

When switched, twrp will also give a false warning that "no os is installed" for the same reason because it can't mount /system which might make some people think the phone is bricked if they are unable to read the info in my switcher thread or understand what I'm saying in my how-to video.

I strongly believe that his phone is perfectly fine and that he just does not understand that his phone will "boot backwards" while switched. If he wants to boot into twrp from a powered off state(while switched) all he has to do is hold the power button until the phone vibrates and the screen turns on. If he wants to boot into android from a powered off state(while switched) he needs to hold power and volume up until the phone vibrates and then let go of the power button and keep holding the volume up button for another 10 seconds.

The same concept applies when rebooting the phone while switched. If you do a "normal reboot" it will boot you into twrp instead of android and if you "reboot recovery" it will boot you into android instead of twrp.

If someone who is fluent in both Spanish and English can explain this that would be great.

Lastly, If his phone is still in twrp and "unable to mount system" tell him to select the "reboot" option in the bottom right corner of the screen then choose "recovery" on the next screen and ignore the warning about no os being installed and swipe to reboot anyway. Chances are his phone will boot right back into android if he does this.

Sorry for the extremely looooong post I just wanted to make sure that everything gets explained in detail and maybe someone can use this information to help him understand what is going on.

Claro lo siento, Y Si utilice el archivo pac_rom_switcher y tambien utilice el pac_rom_restore y nada cuando lo trato de ensender no me pasa de twrp
