No More Broken Camera Lens Or Dinged Red Bezel..

To the OP, your IDEA is a good one... but the execution could be a little cleaner. Either way, its still a good idea, for those that dont want to use a case on the phone. :)

where do these attach? Do they attach to the battery door or red bezel?

The small metal ring attaches to the red bezel. The battery door is easily removed/replaced.

The fisheye and macro lenses can then be easily connected to the ring, they use a simple magnet. The metal ring does make the camera standout, and in a different thread someone used a permanent marker to have it blend in more, but I like the attention it garners.

"hey, what is this shiny thing on the back of your phone?"

"oh, that's where I attach my optional camera lenses. Here, let me show you some pics I took with them" :D

I for one use a case and try and take care of my equipment. This is about the most jury rigged idea I have seen in a long time. The sloppiness of the glue does much injustice to an otherwise beautiful piece of equipment. I can only imagine your idea to fix the IPhone 4 antenna problem. Are you a shade tree mechanic?

wernt you the one whos gone through like 5 EVO's in like a month. What do you expect them to say when you return it for your 6th and there is glue all over it?

no, no, it can't be him. He doesn't care what a phone looks like, "it's just a phone".

See thats not good because thats how the lens is broken. The protection must be around the bezel not on it. pressure of any kind on the red bezel will cause the lens to crack the bezel is double faced taped right to the lens. The protection must be attached to the battery door to deflect any direct pressure to the bezel and the lens.

Get the Seido active case and you don't have to glue anything. It protrudes far enough to protect the bezel and lens.

that looks just AWFUL. Why not tape a lego to the bottom to keep it off the lens? at least with tape you can remove it for the times you really DO care what your phone looks like (as 99.9% of customers do when they buy a new device).

I can't stop looking at it, it's just soooo.... damn.

hmm even this looks better:

You think this is bad, his iPhone 4 has a clothes hanger scotch taped to the side to "fix" the reception problem.
