No More Broken Camera Lens Or Dinged Red Bezel..

i'm working on a rubber band contraption that will cause my phone to spring right back into my hand if i drop it, so it won't be necessary to protect the bezel. i'll send picks when i'm done with the welding. theres no eyelet so i have to solder that on to the phone, then weld the paper clip attached to the rubber band onto it. macguyver, and the ATeam are coming over tonight to help, so it's a lock...

good god people, i feel like a quote about worshipping false idols is in order, ya'll act like he took a whizz in holy water

I can't find the "O" ring.

Depending on the orientation, it is either above or below the other access port. When you do find the "O" ring, understand it is usually very tight and takes a slow methodical approach to make it as usable. Once you get this acclimated to your digits, feel free to throw yourself at it. You will never go back to not wanting that "O" ring.

Seriously. For 5 bucks you can get a case that has an integrated lip to keep the lens and bezel off of any surface that you lay your phone on. It looks better, it is not likely to fall off, it looks better, it has the added benefit of protecting the rest of your phone, it looks better, it is easily removable should you not want to use it at any point, and it looks better.

I'm glad you got your desired results, but as particular as you have been about your phones, it is surprising that you found this acceptable.

Its not a matter of cosmetic acceptability, Its a matter of doing what ever possible to save the camera from getting broken. Do a search to see just how many have been cracked in just 6 weeks. Right now HTC has no parts for this phone just go ahead call HTC they will tell you. After going through 4 Evos and finally getting a good one im not about to risk breaking this one and getting stuck with a refurb some A hole dropped in a Shite filled toilet and HTC repaired.

I'm not arguing with your idea by any means - though it could've been executed much cleaner - but if this above statement were true then why didn't you just purchase a case for it? With a case, you'll protect the lens AND whatever portions the case covers up.

If for any reason you have to replace your current phone, i truly hope you keep your battery cover as returning it also would generally be no different than returning a phone submerged in water. I'm sure no one would want this battery cover with glue on it any more than they would want a toilet dropped replacement phone.

Please read post #37 above. I have THREE battery doors for my Evo. Not all are modified. No one will get my modified door its staying with me on whatever Evo I have because it works.

Ahh, gotcha. With so many to spare i see now why this isn't as big of a deal to you :) Hope it works out for you, some people have cracked the lens from simply cleaning it i believe. No way around that one, case nor ring will protect against that...

Dudes, dudes.
Chill.

I glued 2 small wooden handles to the side. It gives me great grip wile texting in landscape.

Im gonna give this a try ;)
Hahahahaha

Im sorry i just don't see how this isn't just as effective of a barrier as your o ring. Has worked just fine for me and easier on the eyes

Shawn, which case is that?
Do you like it so far? I really hate cases, but i think i might have to throw some extra protection on here.

It is the TPU case from | EVO CASES – Protect What You Love!

I really like it!! volume and power keys were a pain at first but small dabs of scotch tape in the recesses of each and just breaking the case in, I don't notice a difference i went with clear/frosted case looks sharp, feels great, cheap, and light weight. This is my 3rd case for the Evo and one i will use for a while.

If you are rough on your phone might not be the best but the TPU case is great for small drops and no wear and tear
