Help No ota update?

If a Nexus 4 works on MetroPCS, then the Nexus 5 absolutely will. Plus it will add 4G LTE if Metro has it in your area.

Contact Metro. They cannot prevent you from using any legally unlocked phone.

Can anyone confirm using n5 on metro. I'm in a 4g area (Jacksonville, FL).

Returning it won't be a problem. Getting a refund may be another matter, given the dubious honesty of the seller.

I hope you get this sorted though, this sort of thing is almost the norm on ebay but I don't expect to see it on Amazon Marketplace. Hopefully Amazon can sort it out even if the seller gets slippery since you presumably used their payments system.

Amazon prime account holder. That is what I was thinking when I chose to buy from an Amazon seller, hoping Amazon has me covered. The phone is still working as of now, but still so ota. Still getting not compatable device error for play services. I was really looking forward to having a 4 so the wife and I had matching phones. I still have 2 glass screen protectors coming (one for the wife, one for me) and a battery case. I'll keep everyone posted as to how it works out. Still hoping someone can confirm using a N5 on metro. I'm worried if I call and ask they will just say no. But it should not matter, right? Just bring it to a store and have it activated?

Really disappointed at Amazon because of this. I better not have any trouble returning it. I will settle for credit through Amazon even. Wish me luck

As I said before, if the N4 works on MetroPCS then the N5 absolutely, positively will. There is no doubt about it.

My only similar experience with Amazon was here in the UK so it's not helpful directly, but FWIW Amazon UK credited me in full for an Amazon Marketplace item that was not as described despite the seller arguing it was. I also pay for Amazon Prime, maybe it helps in cases like this.

So I got not a refund as such but an electronic "credit note" that I could use for other Amazon purchases. I was happy enough with that, hope it works much the same your side of the pond :-)

Got a RMA and a refund from Amazon. Aslso just noticed the developer options were on ams USB debug enabled. Hmm. Sounds like lunatic59 was right... Idiots. Was told the seller will be shutdown as well. Yay. Now. Trying to find an answer in the N5 forum about metro and using the n5.

Ok. Shipped the N4 back to Amazon today. Ordered a N5 16Gb from Google Play Store. Saved the new Sim card I got for the N4.
I was reading that I should go to a Metro store to have the Imei registered with them to get proper data. Anybody familiar with this? The new thread I started in the N5 forum doesn't seem to be getting any repiles and y'all have been so great!

That doesn't sound right. This isn't Verizon. GSM tech is GSM tech. You have the right frequencies and the same tech, you should be able to pop the sim and go.

Agreed, unless Metro uses some funky APN settings which could cause mobile data problems. You shouldn't have to "register" your IMEI. As soon as you pop in your sim card and connect, they'll know it.

EDIT: Just in case you need the APN settings ...

  1. - Press Main
  2. - Select Settings
  3. - Select Wireless and Networks
  4. - Select Mobile Networks
  5. - Select Access point Names
  6. - Delete all APN

I ponied up the 15. That's why I am using it now. Missed your post since I only get to read the forums on the laptop without a phone. It came in and I drove straight to the store before it closed. Thanks you for the help.
