Ok my x2 was updated to the OTA GB. I followed the instructions to set back to froyo then gingerbreak from there. I have a super user icon but when I try to run apps such as barnacle wifi tether and titanium backup it says I have no root access. What do I need to do to correct this issue. Seems like I'm not fully rooted. Any help appreciated.

Ok I was told to download the team black hat app and that I would not have to sbf back to froyo. So I purchased the TBH app and have it on my phone but not sure what I need to run to gain root access. I am currently running gb from my apparent failed root attempt. Is it possible to just use the TBH app and not have to sbf back to froyo. Just trying to resolve my rooting issues for my DX2. Any and all help appreciated.

sorry i can't answer those questions because i don't have a DX2 and since you have deviated from the instructions i am of not much help. You may want to post in that forum of the link i gave you.

The OTA GB update is not rootable currently. Therefore you must go back to square one and start over. You must SBF back to froyo and then load a rooted GB version (if it is even available for the X2 - I have a DX so I'm not sure what is available for the X2). The directions are there for a reason. If you don't follow them, then don't expect to succeed.
On a related note, SBF is easy and you should be well versed in it if you and to continue with customization on your phone. Use titanium backup to avoid having to download all your apps again. But just recover the apps and data, do NOT recover any system data or the phone will bootloop.
