Help No Service? :(

Lurker
Hi all,
I'm new here and I've looked far and wide for an answer to my question, but haven't got one, so I really hope that anyone can help!
At the beginning of the week I got a message on my lock screen: No Service Emergency Calls Only. I thought this just to be a moment of no signal but it has remained for about 6/7 days.
I tried connecting to a network. It searched for those available and displayed them, I clicked on mine (3 uk) and it came up with Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network. Basically, I cannot connect to any network, so its completely pointless actually having a phone at the minute!

Details as follows: (From Phone info)

Current Network: (Nothing actually here)
Signal Strength: -113 dBM 0 asu
Location: LAC = unknown CID = unknown
Neighboring CID = unknown
Roaming: Not roaming
GSM service: Emergency Calls Only
GPRS service: Disconnected
Network type: unknown
Message qaiting: false
Call redirect: false
Call status: Idle
Radio resets: 0
Data attempts: 0
Data successes: 0
GSM disconnects: =====DATA=====

It also says WCDMA preferred, but I have tried changing this, no luck though.
I am on a contract with 3 UK (can't wait for the end!) and I am running Android 2.1, the official version, i.e. I haven't rooted my phone etc. Also, my phone is unlocked and I've tried resetting my phone/factory rest and so on, still nothing.

Many thanks, any help is appreciated, if you need anymore info about my phone's software etc feel free to ask.

If the problem occured suddenly, without you making any changes, I'd suggest that you contact 3UK's customer service dept. It could be a hardware failure or a faulty SIM.

I think is just the sim. try with another sim card. Your sim card probably is magnetized. I happened like this before. a 80% percent is from your sim. In this case you have to contact the operator service and request another sim card with the same number. should not be a problem.
