No sound with Navigation

When I try to use the Navigation, sometimes it speaks the turn by turn directions but sometimes it just displays them on the screen. I'm not sure why the sound doesn't work all the time and I can't find a setting to turn it on. Any ideas?
 
If it starts with voice, it will continue to talk to me for the entire trip. If it doesn't start with voice, there doesn't seem to be a way to get it started. If I select a destination address from my contact list, I don't get any voice. If I use my voice to enter the address, it will then talk. However, I find it doesn't always understand my voice so it ends up navigating to the wrong address.
 
This happened to me as well. The only thing I noticed was the voice did not seem to work if the bluetooth was on. This kinda stinks since I have Sync in my car. So if I want the voiced directions I cannot also take a call through the car speakers. Bummer
