Help no vibration for text/notifications?

Hi, everybody! I'm really hoping somebody out there can help me with this one . . . I'm just a blond, so I'm sure it's something I've done wrong, lol.

I got an Optimus V about a week and a half ago, and so far I'm loving it - with one exception. I cannot figure out how to get the darned thing to vibrate for incoming text messages. Whenever I get a text it plays any tone I have it set to, but it will not vibrate. So if I have the ringtone turned off, or if I have the sound turned off and the phone is set to vibrate I miss knowing if someone is texting me. I'm sure it has to be a setting somewhere that I've missed . . .

Here's what my settings look like -

In the Messaging app - Menu Key - Settings - Vibrate - Always

In the phone's settings (accessed by the Menu Key at the home screen) - Sound - Vibrate - Always

I have the same problem with calendar notifications, but I'm not really all that worried about that.

The vibrator works fine for alarms and incoming calls, so I know that's not the problem. Have I missed something somewhere? Is there another place that I need to turn it on?? Thanks to anyone who can help!!

Download an app called Quick Settings
once you downloaded it open it.
there should be an option called Ringer( you might need to scroll down)
theres two buttons for that option. an on button and another one.
Click on the first button, the one that looks like it has a big box and a little one behind it.
then a window should open and it should say:
Silent
Vibration only
Sound only
Sound & Vibration

click on the vibration only and that should make the phone only vibrate.

Hope this hellped :)

It did help! Thank you, Proxy!! Would you believe that I actually had Quick Settings, but had no clue that setting was there? (Like I said, I am a blond . . . :) ) Thank you so much! That's been driving me crazy for a week!

Your Welcome im glad i could help besides you only had the phone for a week. its not like you knew everything about it :)

Nice tip! It worked for me too.

It seems like QuickSettings helps to 're-enable' vibration when silent for SMS. I had though my brief use of Flash Notify had somehow permanently disabled the Vib when silent for texts, but QS fixed it!
