How can you be disappointed with the phone that you probably modified non stock? lol that's like saying your unhappy with your new car because you took the motor out and put in a used one and it blew up lmao. It isn't the phones fault you tampered with it and something doesn't work.

I updated and works perfectly fine on my stock phone.

:)
was having issues before root... and ota update is somthing that i have no control over... you may put a crap motor in a new car, but i would put an even better motor in my car, getting the key (root) to the car would be the first step right? ;)

besides i exchanged it and while still in the store ran some test on my now 5 min old phone and quadrant gave a score of only 1820, browser still choppy and laggy... heck i supped up the motor of my Transform Ultra and its way smoother/faster than this Evo, i have my TU running at the mid 2800's quadrant score...

i have a few weeks to dicide if im going to keep this Evo or not... Deodexing this thing right now, that should smooth some things out, add a few speed tweeks and hope someone can make a custom kernel for this thing and it would improve this motor quite well... but in the mean time have fun with your spudering stock car :D

edit*add* ... root and cwm by any means can not be any where close to comparable to adding an old used motor... they would be more like rocket fuel and nitrous oxide with a realy good protection plan :driver:
:car:

i did restore the stock restore and re-locked the bootloader, but i keeped root. i dont see how su would mess up an ota update, but it could be the reason. all preavious ota udates ive taken over wrights su.

but got a replacement and its 95% better

Same thing happened to me. I relocked the bootloader and everything before doing the OTA, then my wifi and 4g were both toast. Only way I could get them back was by restoring from backup before the update.

Get instead disappointed with the software. I'd root switch back and never again worry about an ota but it's up to you just a suggestion.

Yeah I agree... the phone was defective though... was getting disappointed that I spent 300 on a phone, took the time offsetting it up, and it sucked in my opinion.

I did exchange it and the new one is much better, still I think the Transform Ultra out performs this phone, and the browser is a bit sluggish on loading pages, and the front camera has many lines... but otherwise a great phone.... I do like it! Just expected a lil better. And having a defective anything is just out right is frustrating.

Doubt the transform would do well on ICS even if it did our only issue is software. You could load gingerbread from the sprint or us cellular version of and that is the smoothest gingerbread I've ever seen. I've had over 20 different Android devices since April 2011

Wow PlayBoY, wow!

A phone hore... How fun!

Fun and yet sometimes annoying like now I've had so many other awesome stock Android Roms on other devices but now I'm going to have to learn how to make a kernel or ask someone in the know to do so for us before we can get an AOSP Rom working properly.

I still do love this device an had it thru the last 7 devices since December this is the one I have choose to keep (the Atrix 2 was very tempting and non pentile) had a Nexus S that I just hated it was janky. Last year my favorite device which I had two of was the HTC Droid Incredible 2. Thunderbolt sucked Droid 3 was too chunky and blocky Droid X square Droid 2 lame and so on and so forth, so I guess I'm partial to HTC they make the highest quality Android devices e en though they have very little of the market share

I agree with you. I've had about 8 different androids the past couple years. This is actually my first HTC device and I'm more pleased with it than I have been with any other. I don't know about HTC devices in general, but this one certainly seems to be more well-made than any other android I've gotten to use for any significant period of time.
