Root Noob, having every known problem w/ unrevoked3

I've gone through all the forums I think, watched all the videos, loaded then reloaded drivers, software, reset my phone 2 times. I can't get this shit to work on my EVO, and I've been at it for 8hrs now. I'm at my end w/ this...I've had it won't communicate, wait to settle, loading root, now firmware is too new. WTF is the deal? I've done everything right? The computer I'm doing it on is new...I put HTC Sync on cause some people said that helped them, then deleted it. I'm loosing my mind...what do I do next?

Well, with being a noob, it is pretty obvious that he has Gingerbread ROM on the phone being that it has been OTA now more than what 4 months.

So DUDE, GO TO REVOLUTIONARY AND READ THAT!!!
