Root Noob questions!

I just updated to Gingerbread today, and I was sad to find there's no root besides the pre-rooted flash. How long does it normally take for someone to come out with the root for the published version? I think I'll probably wait for that.

Also, i was reading on the update notes that they improved Facebook sync info somehow, but I can't find it for the life of me. I added my Facebook account under 'Accounts', but it doesn't show up in there now. There's a check mark next to it saying I already added it, but I can't edit any options. And there's nothing inside the app itself to show me. I feel like it's bugged somehow but I don't know how or why.

I was rooted before the update, and didn't unfreeze any of my apps before I installed Gingerbread because I totally forgot. Is that going to cause issues, or is that the reason I'm having a few odd ones? Thanks in advance.

You're going to be waiting for something that's more than likely not coming.

If you really want root, you are going to have to work for it ;)

its not even that hard either. it just a matter of doing some research on how to sbf and what to do. once u do that then u just sbf back to froyo and install the pre-rooted GB. itll take 1 hr at most once u know what to do
