Accessories Not thrilled with Innocase

Same here, its to be expected since it snaps with two pieces. Unless its excessive, then it might have something wrong with it.

Is it better to get a hard case or a gel case? I had gel cases on my instinct before and they always bowed and fealt like the phone was going to come out so I ended up getting a snap on hard case with a rubberish coating and that one fit nicely and it didn't collect pocket lint like the gel cases do, unfortunately though the snap broke on it when I had to take it off for something so I never bought another one.

To the people who say their cases slide, do you think it's because the way the evo is shaped that the case just doesn't fit it snugly? the back is kind of curvey and that could be hard to fit properly.

Incase makes cases mainly for Apple products (a few other products here and there). Very beautiful cases with a huge variety to choose from.

Slider Case for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G : Products By Incase

Seidio Innocase is produced for a wide variety of phones. I never really liked their design for the iPhone though.

I know Im really a fan of Incase's style.

Wish they would expand their product line, but im pretty sure their content feeding off the apple crowd, they probably get huge returns developing for apple because they products change maybe once a year so ther isnt a bunch of different phones they have to keep making batches for

I'm surprised ya'll haven't seen the other thread where another Innocase owner added two felt strips at the top and two at the bottom on the inside of the case to make the fit more snug. He got the material from Hobby Lobby.

Saw that thread. Just sad that the consumer will need to modify a $30 piece of plastic.

I'm surprised you didn't notice that the DIY fix thread was pointed out in post #7 of this thread.

I got the Platinum Case with the holster which pretty much an Innocase II with a different brand. I think it's awesome! The only thing I don't like about it, is that when I work in a lab, I wouldn't be able to use it or risk potentially harmful chemicals reach my phone, and I don't want to do that. I would rather have a leather case to make sure I get the best possible protection/coverage for my phone. :)

Very poor quality $30 case (should be $10). Bought mine Saturday morning and returned it Saturday night. Loose fit, looks cheap, feels cheap. I am waiting for a QUALITY case from Otterbox or Case Mate.

+1 on the otterbox.. I had one of those on my blackberry curve 8330....I'm a paramedic... so it was very effective in protecting my phone.

I would deliberately throw my phone on the floor to demonstrate how effective the otterbox is for phones... & I've probably talked about 2 dozen of my coworkers into getting the otterbox.

I, however WILL NOT be throwing my EVO anywhere... ever...

I SHOULD just become a reseller of them ! hahaha:o

I'm not having any problems with my Innocase - Holster combo. It works great. Its no Otterbox, I have one on my Tour and had one on my Curve. Yes I throw my tour too. Don't try it with the EVO, Digitizers don't take kindly to sudden blows. I am sure Otter box will have a solution sometime, but they always wait way too long. Sedio always has a solution available when its needed at launch. If your unhappy "They will make it right with you", they have a 6 month warrenty. I Broke my pre case twice and they replaced it.

Mine creeks and squeeks a lot when I hold the phone by both ends and twist a little. I notice that there is a lot of play in the corners between the front and back of the case.

As I've said previously, I'm not willing to "mod" a $50 case. If they sold it for $10, I'd break out the electrical tape and pad the inside, but since they're charging this much, I'm going to insist on receiving a "premium" product.

Please wait for the next available representative

jmx can you keep us updated on the new case you receive- ie if it still has the same squeaky problem?

good to know seidio if offering replacements.. though it sort of sucks to have to go through the hassle

thanks for the headsup though

Hello All,

We appreciate all your valuable feedback. We've produced thousands of these cases and have only seen this problem in very small numbers. As a precaution, we're now testing every case before it's shipped to insure there are no issues. We'd ask that anyone who is concerned with their case please contact us so we can get you taken care of right away. Our ultimate goal is perfection, so our engineers will continue to look into this to see what, if any improvements can be made. Thank you.

Regards,

Ok, a few thoughts on this:

1) It's unfortunate Seidio let defective cases out; however, I am very encouraged they acknowledge an issue and they are taking reasonably appropriate steps to correct.

2) I appreciate the public discussion and interaction by Seidio. I think if more companies regularly interacted with their consumer base in public forums such as these, they would build brand loyalty at an exponential rate.

I know you're listening Seidio, so kudos on your handling so far. I look forward to the replacement, and I hope it's as good as the Hero model.

After my chat with Seidio (transcript above), I received the following e-mail:

Thank you for your inquiry at Seidioonline. We are more than happy to assist you with your concern. We are sincerely apologizing for this issue with our Innocases. We had a few with that manufacturing problem, but we have corrected the issue. We will send you a replacement brand new case with the issue corrected and please allow 3-5 business days with FedEx for shipping.

Your business and continued satisfaction is of great importance to us here at Seidioonline Customer Service, so feel free to contact us at (832) 204-1118 with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

I have been having the same problem with my case from Bestbuy (seidio rebranded). It definitely does not fit snugly in corner (only top right though) and it wiggles enough that it creaks.

I contacted Seidio thru their Livechat and they were VERY helpful and quick with fixing the problem. Like JMX said, it's great that a company actually owns up to a design problem and aims to fix it ASAP.

It was a simple process to get a replacement shipped and I will ship the squeaky one when I receive new one. But because I bought at Bestbuy I had to fax a receipt copy over, but that's not a big deal.

For anyone else having the squeaky problem and not wanting to glue felt and can wait a few days... Seidio is doing a great job taking care of us!

Good to hear. I was wondering whether Seidio would support the BB platinum cases that Seidio manufactured. I just emailed them with that question. Sounds like I will get support from Seidio.

Seidio shipped my replacement today via FedEx Express Saver. It should be here Friday. I'll post my results when the new case arrives.

Chrono summary:

- Customer support e-mail sent Friday 6/4.
- Contacted Seidio via online chat Monday 6/7.
- RMA acknowledgement Monday 6/7.
- FedEx notification Tuesday 6/8.

Count me impressed if the replacement fits as it's supposed to and if they cover return shipping.

I am also having the same issues with my case. The top is loose and does not fit properly. Going to contact them for a replacement.

Can you guys update on whether your replacements are snug? I don't know how they could fix this other than to change the mold or change the manufacturing to shrink the plastic more...I'm just not sure what their fix is so I am wondering if those of you getting replacements have seen an improvement. I don't like my phone sliding around inside the case and the felt solution doesn't work so well...
