Note 2 coming to Sprint Oct 25 for $299

[off topic]

The idea of moving apps to the sd card has always been and remains to be ridiculous.

Android apps are small.

Data comes in two forms - configuration data and application data. Application data belongs on the sd card.

Lazy devs think nothing of hogging internal app storage space with their crap. Games will often download hundreds of MB of data to the app data space like they're privileged and your phone belongs to them.

Write to lazy devs and complain, the practice is ridiculous and it's an iOS method.

Application data belongs on the sd card.

So I just found out that my family plan w/ AT&T is going to disband soon. I pay about 55-60 a month with my iPhone 4 (more than enough minutes 2GB data, unlimited texting), but doing price comparisons if I were to change to Sprint. The unlimited data is really enticing since I'd like to tether.

So I wanted to hear from some Sprint people of their recommendation as far as coverage and speed. My friend has an iPhone 4s on Sprint and when I've used it sometimes his 3G is noticeably slower. With the implementation of 4G/LTE anyone can give personal accounts to coverage and speed especially in the Los Angeles/Orange County area? How true is Verizon/AT&T's campaign that Sprint though offering unlimited data is significantly slower (4G/LTE band)? Thanks!

Anywhere specifically in OC/LA? I live north of sunset and Sprint has the best signal strength at my house. As for the rest of LA, there are some spots that have sketchy coverage. Of the cities I frequent, Venice near Lincoln Blvd., Porter Ranch, and South OC (Ladeira Ranch area) seem to be the weakest.

As for speed, lately it's been very slow, but I attribute that to the Network Vision upgrades. Those are supposed to be complete by the end of 2014, but it could be sooner because of the Softbank purchase, as well as buying out clearwire. Thinking on the optimistic side, Sprint might just be competing better with ATT and Verizon by the end of 2013.

I am a novice phone user but I plan on rooting my Note ASAP. Rooting my Evo 4G was the greatest move I ever made with the phone.
