Hello can anyone tell me what the circle with the line through it means in between the battery and the wifi status....

Ok gotcha. Yes in my home it shows this. I don't always keep a eye on it. What would it effect if it's weak...thanks for ur help btw.

No problem!

If it's weak, the obvious thing would be the potential to miss calls/texts etc. It will also have an impact on battery life. If your signal is weak the phone will push more power to its radio to help it get a better signal.

No idea about why it becomes a circle though, sorry.

I see gotcha! Thank you for explaining it to me. I was asking around and know one knew....

For similar questions, you can always check in "settings", "about phone", "icon glossary" for any and all symbols that will appear on your phone.

A circle with a line through it showing where the cellular signal strength would normally appear means "no service", in other words the phone would not be able to make a call either because the signal is far too weak or there is some other problem such as failure to recognise the SIM if your phone has one.

In that case you may find a message elsewhere on the screen saying either "No Service" or "Emergency Calls Only". The latter message means there isn't a useful signal from the provider you are locked/contracted to but there is a signal from competing networks and the phone would use a competitor's signal if you needed to make an emergency call.
