Root Notes from the frontlines...(my conversation with LG about the bootloader)

No, they're still locked. The only reason we don't have an unlocked bootloader is because Metro told LG to keep it locked. Hopefully, Cricket and Sprint won't do the same.

Possible way to flash kernel?

My message:

I would like to see the source for the MS77010e
firmware please. Also, how can I test the kernel?
Everytime I try to flash it I get morningcall error. How can I confirm this source is correct?

Response:

Dear "Sammyz"

Thank you for your interest about our mobile
phone.

i spoke to an lg tech from korea and he told me that unlockign the bootloader is impossible. then he said rather look into your self and you will see that it is only you that is locked. and that their is no bootloader.

WAIT, WHAT?!

No bootloader???

Then I have a theory, let's remove wallpaper from /sbin, and morningcall from /system/bin/ and init.lge.early.rc from / then flash cwm to our recovery partition and see what happens... If that works then we should try flashing an overclocked kernel....

I think he's kidding :p

I guess i gonna have to keep saving for the s3 cuz lg spirit has everything i need plus bigger screen but locked bootloader

Either there is a bootloader, or we boot directly into the kernel (very doubtful). There may be a bootloader in the literal form, something that loads to boot the core of the phone, just not the standard bootloader that does system checks. I am now going to experiment with so much stuff... I might as well leave the flash tool open. Think you can give me info on how to contact him, or did you just get him through the site? I have a few questions...

EDIT: Wait, was this fake? If so, disregard everything I said.
