noticed animated gifs still aren't working

Didnt work on the Hero, was sort of hoping EVO would magically work with it. Is this something FroYo can fix? Its such an standard format.
 
So further down in that thread apparently animated .gif support is coming in 2.2 but only on devices with "large memory"

It is completely mind boggling that my ppc6700 did this but my Evo can't, and the excuse is system resources. : psyduck:

...and my POS Instinct had no problem with animated gifs either. Something is definitely wrong with this picture (no pun intended...)
