Help Notification sounds off while I'm sleeping?

rustminer

Lurker
Other that going in to "Sounds" and turning down the notification volume, is there a night or sleep mode for this phone? I use the desk clock as my night table clock and alarm clock and every time an email or text comes through it wakes me up! HELP!

I use an app called Silent Time (Lite) http://market.android.com/details?id=com.QuiteHypnotic.SilentTime&hl=en

I don't know what the difference between the Lite and Pro version is, but with the Lite I have 2 events. 1 for weekday (ends at 7am) and one for weekend (ends at 11am for sleeping in, which I never seem to be able to do). It allows for "exceptions" too, so if someone on your excepted list calls, their phone call goes through. It hasn't been updated since 06/10, but worked great on my DINC and runs just as well on my GN.

Quick question; for your weekend exceptions, is that Friday and Saturday, or Saturday and Sunday. Meaning, if I want an event to go from Friday at 11:00 PM until Saturday at 11:00 AM, what day is that?

If you go to settings -- power, do you see a sleep mode?
For email I recommend K9. With K9 you can set a quiet time to silence email.notifications.

CHECK OUT Timeriffic in the app store. It allows you to adjust the volume as often as you'd like ... setting it to silent from 10p-6a m-w-f and silent from 11p-4a on the remaining days, etc. And, best of all, it's a FREE app.

I'm not 100% sure. What worked for me was to have 2 separate "events". I have my normal M-F and then an extra "Sa/Su" event that starts at 0300 and goes until 1100. Since I'm not crossing days with the event (e.g. 11pm to 3am) it is Sat and Sun mornings from 3am to 11am. I end up having 2 silent time events running, but has never seemed to be a problem. When the phone is already muted with my first (Mo-Fri) event, I don't get the "alert" sound Silent Time makes when the 2nd event starts.

I use an app called "Quick Profiles". Although I decided because I liked the app so much I would use the Pro version....I don't remember what the differences were between the free and Pro.

Anyway, you can set several profiles to make your phone ring or not ring as you wish. For example....

At night, I want my phone to ring (because my husband is a police officer and in case of an emergency....) but I don't want to get email or text notifications. I have created a profile to have my phone ring at 100% volume, but silence the email and text notifications, and have my alarm at 100%.

When I'm in the car, I want everything loud so it will be heard over the radio, so I created a profile called LOUD that puts everything at 100%.

When I'm at work, I have a profile for it that makes all the sounds at 30%.

Everything is fully customizable, and setting the different profiles is easy from the widget on my home screen. Push it, and all the profile titles pop up. Select the one I want and it's done.

Setting them all up can be time consuming depending on how many you set up and how much customizing you do to each of them...but once they are set, it's a breeze swapping between them.
