haha yeah i was using 10.10 back when i compiled from source that one time.. and remember having to do all sorts of things to make it finally compile correctly.. thats why i hate linux lol but on the other hand it looks nice, runs fast and is easy to use once yu actually figure it out haha thanks for the advice man!!

I actually use Linux Mint 12 and if you know how to change the FIRST step in the Source Guide on Google's site then you are ALL good to go there except for Java which is a pain in the butt LoL. If anyone needs help installing Java in Linux just let me know. There are false repositories floating ALL around for JDK1.6. Did you get snagged up on this on 11.04, PG?

noope ;) I get it direct from oracle ;)

^^^^^^^^^^^Agreed.

I love the hard work these guys put in and I've said it before and Ill say it again, I wish the only way to download ROMs was after you donated. Whether its a dollar or 10 dollars you'd have to donate to release the download link.

GSE3=?

I'll send them a candy bar.............:D

I WANT GSE 3 and CM9 NOW!!!! OR I'LL I'LL.... sit here quietly and wait. lol

I helped someone out a while ago on one of his themes and i know what the guy went through to get that working, I can imagine the work that goes into a full on ROM. Wont see me doing it. haha

well, that's not fair lol am unable install through their own
repo even if i add it manually. In 11.04 and even possibly 11.10 does it fine even after manually inputting add-apt-repository. i may end up playing with 04 or 10 here later on to see if itll be easier. I have it up and runnong right but sometimes problems with Java on there. wish they would allow JDK1.7 for full ROM modifying.

Believe I'm on .7

i believe you can use 7 for later roms... i know i NEEDED 5 to build anything under froyo.. and 6 was froyo +

seeing as how GB is still somewhat considered recent 7 would still work with it, along with ics blah blah blah lol

Well Android phones don't support Java7 so that's why
i am curious. It compiles properly but who knows. And PG, irk if you know this but you can use terminal and "Java -version" to see what version you have. There its a space
after Java. I am just curious with thus matter though, not a big deal. If you do end up doing this just let me know what JDK version you have. It will MOST likely be the same as the JRE version installed.

Wow nice... a lot of people have to remove open jdk before even attempting to install the jdk. Lucky you!
