Help o2 recall galaxy

Hi guys, im new here.

I bought a samsung galaxy a week ago but quicky had an issue wuth the menu key not working.
I tried loads of software type fixes all to no avail. Anyway, i called my o2 store who told me that they couldnt replace the handset as all of the phones in stock had been recalled by the company.

i then called o2 customer services who confirmed that all of the handsets had been recalled but the guy on the phone didnt know why.

anyone else heard of this?

this is one of those uncomfortable moments when i dont know whether to believe you!

anyway, had another call from my o2 store. they have had a delivery of handsets today, off to pick up a replacement now

I have been getting replacement handsets without any mention of a recall though it wouldn't surprise me I am now awaiting delivery of a 4th handset all had the problem of rejecting incoming calls!

This news is bugging me! Since I have been having a torrid time with this handset I would quite like to verify what you are saying which store were you dealing with?

I was dealing with the cheshire oaks store but called the chester shop as well as o2 customer services.

seems the cheshire oaks have a couple in stock and "no nothing" about the recall...

got myself a new handset now, works ok so far

I'll say he pulled a fast one. I don't believe speed can cause such things to happen. It's either there or not.

Yes croftyboy8, this happens a few time when the camera button is stuck. Must be a key conflict. You can test that pressing menu button while pressing the camera button: menu key does not work.

That is probably due to the design of the hardware keys. Just like in telephones and keyboards, keys are usually in a matrix system so if one key is already pressed, another key probably can't be detected.

i think you're spot on, the old handse did have a sticky camera button... something else to blame on the wallet/purse that comes with it!

If you can avoid catching fire at 50mph and get up to 88mph in a thunderstorm, does the phone go back in time?

Yes, so you don't ever need to backup - you can simply roll back by doing 88 mph. But that's illegal in some countries, so you might better off with a backup )))
