Help o2 to Voda help

PeteJ

Lurker
Hi, noob here - please be gentle!

I have an HTC desire, purchased June 2010 on an o2 contract. For reasons too long to go into, I have a SIM from a Vodafone blackberry, and would like to use the voda number etc. in my HTC.

All works fine (wifi / calls) except for mobile internet, with the message "invalid apn". I've selected postpay Voda settings, wont work, browsed a million treads with various manual entries and done these - don't work!!

Am I missing something? - the phone doesn't appear to be "branded" (no boot logo) but I'm now very unsure what to do next.

Thanks in advance for reading, and apologies if you've read the answer a million times before somewhere! but help!

Pete

Just had a bit of a search to see what I could find as I had a similar prob. I have a desire which was originally on O2, was unlocked and still using o2. When I flash no issues it holds onto o2 settings.

I got my wife an Orange san Francisco which I unlocked and put an o2 sim. everytime I flash/wipe I have to manually enter the apn settings by creating a new one.

I found this on the vodafone forum:

Hope it helps

also be aware that you might have blackberry data enabled on the voda sim but not standard mobile internet
