ocasionally speaker is too quiet

Every once in a while my ear speaker is so quiet I cant hear it. If I shut it off for a while it will work again. If I shut it off and turn it right back on it doesn't fix it. It has to be off for a little while. What could be the problem?

Did you test the phone's water-proof capability? Water on a speaker is not good. Also, cell phones are very particular to them being in the right spot on your ear or the volume will seem to be low(assuming you know this already, however).
I'd take it back and ask for a replacement if it were me.

No I did not test the water proof capabilities I don't have the balls to do that. I will talk to the person in charge of the cell phone contract at work on Monday. see what she says.
thanks

I would like to know the answer to this also. Seems like few people have this problem. For some reason I'm on my 3rd phone now due to this. Each of the 1st two lasted one month each before ear piece volume would be so low that with volume all the way up could not hear. both times took phone into Verizon store, they had no idea of anything that could cause this issue. Last one the store employe called for tech support which was of no help. Data wipe and reset was of no help. funny thing is i also carry a black berry for work with out any problems.

I have the same problem. It carries over into the Bluetooth as well. Must be some sort of software glitch. I usually just reboot and it goes away.
