I updated my Moment at the Apple Valley, MN Sprint store. It took just 20 mins and believe me my battery life is at least 2-3 times better. I had left it running all night with the Wi-Fi turned on and it still had 60% battery in the morning. I was going to return the phone for a Hero (still within the Best Buy 30 days limit) due to poor battery life, but now it's a keeper. The down side is I had to re-install all my apps. Since all my PIM is in Google, I got my contacts and calendar items back in less than a minute.
I had mine updated at the Apple Valley, MN store on the 18th after the folks at the Lakeville store had it for over 3 hours the previous Friday and could not do it. They told me that there was a problem with the software that they had and that they would call me on Monday, the 18th when they had the correct/updated software. It is now the 23rd, and I have yet to hear from them.
By splitting and preoccupying their customers with this botched update, they break down the unified demand for the 2.1 update. Could it really be that Sprint is just creating a distraction in order to avoid (or at least create an excuse) for the PR nightmare that may ensue when they inevitably can't make the Q1 update in time?
