I am pretty sure, nothing was pushed back, motorola said late summer, september is late summer! sheesh

By the calendar, but not in most peoples mind.Everything pretty much wraps up by the first week of September unless you are in a deep south state.

Well unless its been reported as a fact from someone reliable then don't believe anything you read. Its simple. BTW September is still late summer which has been said the whole time by a reliable source

i'm really bummed out on waiting a whole month for froyo to come out on the x. i remember the pre release of all the people talking about having froyo and flash on the x and this was late june early july. i was okay with waiting until august but this news of september kind of pissed me off, just because all the other phones are getting it and we'll be one of the last. i wonder why they didn't work on developing froyo for the x while the phone was being developed and tested and stuff? hopefully when we get froyo there'll be no bugs what so ever and all the bugs we have no will be worked out cuz they have plenty of time to work perfection on an already perfect phone. this post is helping me vent some. i was really looking toward to watching videos on transworld motocross. oh well i love my droid x and it will be amazing with froyo (: if anyone else wants to vent a lil or express any feelings on froyo for the x feel free please. have a nice day.

one of the last? So far it seems like the EVO, Nexus one, and The Droid are gonna be the only US devices getting Froyo before the X. Seems as though the froyo update will coincide with the D2 launch. I'm not sure what the disappointment is?

Way to cover your statement with "technicalities"

As other have suggested, there's obviously a reason behind Motorola's decision to pull-back on releasing Froyo to the X....just give it some time people.

I am in a deep south state. It feels like summer in October sometimes. I have ridden my motorcycle in December while wearing shorts. I am in the south east.

I might be able to wait until September.

No bugs.Your kidding right.New bugs and glitches are being found on all android phones every day.I love my X but it just seems like none of these manufactures can get it together. If Microsoft had all of these bugs and glitches every one would be up in arms.

Not dead last but one of the last. The only other phones that are relative is the Droid Inc and the Galaxy S line.

The only thing that bothers me is that Droid received/is receiving 2.2 before any other Androids on Verizon... it's listed as an "End of Life" device.

damn OP.. are you ok? you create a thread that says best device ever then follow it up with a thread about really bummed out. i am one to assume that motorola is purposely delaying the froyo release for the droid x.. but we will get the update. ill be more upset if 6 months from now, motorola decides to stop support for this device when the next greater phone comes out.

Is incompetence a good reason.Look at how long Nexus One has had Froyo.Don't put your bs Moto blur skin on it if it going to cause this much of a challenge every time they try to update the operating system.

@rdcamero yes that's what i'm saying thanks. sorry for being a lil disappointed i just really love this phone and want to get the most out of ALL it can do lol i'm stoked with this phone & i'm really excited about froyo that's all

Ya that is true hahaha summer does end until like sept. I guess being in college summer starts for me in may and ends in august. Lolz.

Well, the only thing I am really looking forward to is the Flash ....

I don't mind the waiting, as the x is pretty fast as it is...

of course i'm okay like really dude i just want to get it already because i eat sleep and breathe motocross & i'd really like to be able to watch all the videos i want conveniently on my phone. i still believe this is the best device ever period my view about that will never change. i just wanted 2.2 when all the other phones got it that's all. geez people are so lame these days.

The only thing that Moto has said to this point is late summer. And as has been pointed out here summer ends Sept. 20 contrary to what everyone seems to think. So early Sept would be right on time for what they said.

You can't always be the first guys. My point wasn't that we are getting it before anyone else, but its certainly not so long a wait that I would start a thread about being bummed out about it, or make me regret purchasing the phone that I did.

The thing with any update is that, they are hard to wait for but once you have it, its fun for about a day. Then the process starts over for the next update.

The droid x is supposed to be the showpiece of the new droid line up. It is the face of the current android push. Look at all the commercials on TV and the amount of press the phone has received and continues to get. When jabs are taken at the iphone, its the droid x that's doing it, not the Evo, not the original droid, not even the new droid 2. Frankly, the phone should have come with 2.2 to begin with to really showcase the powerhouse the droid x can be.

It's like getting a Ferrari and only being able to hit a top speed of 70MPH for the first couple of months you have it. Maybe that's fast enough for most driving needs, but the thing was built for speed and I darn well want to see have fast it can go.

I know Motorola never gave a definitive date and that September is technically late summer, but many of us took "late summer" to mean August. I know I did. And a month is still a month. When you only plan on having a phone for 20 months (even less for one year contracts), a month is not a small amount of time.

Do I regret my droid x purchase? Of course not. But I don't think there's anything wrong with this thread. People have created threads for far more insignificant things.
