I bought a car dock last week and have only used it to play with navigation without cable until I read the lastest posts here. I have Battery Monitor installed (highly recommended BTW) and this is what I found tonight:
- When running automatic screen brightness at night without charge cable connected, the Rezound was burning a whopping 750mA/H with GPS, BT and 3G turned on and in navigation mode. At that rate, the 1620mA battery would be dead is two hours.
- When charging via USB cable to my in-dash radio, I was loosing about 400mA/H which means the battery would last ~4 hours.
- When charging from a belkin USB/Lighter 1A adapter. it would loose about 200mA/H which means the battery would last ~8 hours.
- When using 110V/USB 1A adapter that came with the rezound it would loose about 150mA/H (I've got a 110v inverter in my console) so the battery would last about ~10 hours.
- When using my Vizio tablet 110V/USB 2A adapter, the phone charged at about 200mA/H! Success!
It appears that the dock limits the current going to the Rezound and you need a Tablet USB car charger that can deliver up to 2A.
Does an iPad come with a 110V/USB adapter and does anyone have one that can tell us what is it rated?
It will say something like Output: 5V @ 2A (this is the Visio charger rating)
If someone can check, maybe that is the answer for folks that have a tablet charger already.
