Can someone please tell me where to find the backup settings option in this new froyo update, i can't find it anywhere in froyo, the privacy option in settings isn't there anymore.

im currently on software 1.15.405.4, will i need to update to 1.21.405.2 before froyo appears?

I think you will. I have been ignoring an upgrade to 1.21 for just over a month and updates today didn't show 2.2 I've just done the upgrade to 1.21, checked again and now the 2.2 upgrade has been offered.

I've got software 1.15.61.10 (Orange branded).

I've no software upgrade available, so how do I go about getting 1.21 in order to maybe provoke Froyo to appear as a download?

On froyo I have noticed that app killer is not killing the apps properly.

When I kill the apps and then reopen them, it goes back to the last screen.

Does this happen to everyone?

I want to know this too! Couple of people are getting a bit confussed with this and isyncr which i think are two different things (i might be wrong).

Thanks billy. I can find all that and my details match those of brykins. Will that change when I can update or how will I know? Also as my phone appears to be unbranded should I be able to do it now. I confess to having got a little confused with un/branded; un/locked; un/rooted; gold cards etc. The age factor I'm afraid!

Fairly sure you can do it immediately Walton as your phone is unbranded.

same with me i got the download, quickly posted on here i had it, went back to download and said it was up to date kept trying and it finally come back so yeah just keep trying you should get it

I couldn't stand not having froyo on my orange branded desire so i have just debranded it and i'm currently installing froyo.


its now asking for the 'sim network unlock PIN'

does anyone know if that a standard pin for the phone or do i have to get the phone unlocked?

think u need to have the goldcard in while updating. not taking mine out until everythings done. seeing as orange gave me a crap answer i'm not waiting, froyo here we come!

Carphone Warehouse purchased Desire on Orange (so technically unlocked as I believe all Carephone Warehouse phones are NOT locked to a network). Just received the Update Available message while I sit in France on holiday (WiFi on site) ...downloaded and updating as I type.

The only minor bug have encountered so far is after download it changed my ringtone and notification sound but that was easy to correct.

I have unlocked on 3 network. I have to check manually for update, but managed to upgrade to 2.2 without a hitch.!! All data is perfect, haven’t tried new features, but internet explorer is working some what fast and best is can see flash videos..!! Will try all new features slowly, but really happy to get 2.2 without any proble

I've upgraded my unbranded Desire on O2 and I've now got no data connection.

This happened to me too, after fiddling with it a bit i realized my access point wasnt selected, so you need to go to:

Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > select the Radio button next to your access point (note if you press on it you will be taken to the ap settings).

So make sure there is a little green dot next to your access point.

I thought all Voda's were unbranded, there is nothing to do with Vodafone anywhere on the handset.. Oh well

I think someone said look on themes and if you have a Vodafone theme listed its branded
