So things might be moving along and my DHD on it's way early next week?

It's obviously a similar looker but then so are the EVO and the HD7.

There is no way the Desire HD itself can work on Verizon as it's a CDMA network.

I for one am a little suspicious of gum now.

They're a very small player to have managed to get their hands on all black ones when the likes of clove, expansys and handtec (not to mention Amazon and play) haven't.

I think they're mistaken and it'll be brown/copper.

Even if it isn't black i'll still keep it. No way am i going to return it having waited SO long for it to be released. Although i will most likely give GumMobile a call to complain saying the handset is the wrong colour and see what they say. I could get something extra out of them! :D

Hi Guys,

I'm a new poster, but have been avidly following these discussions for a while. Phones4u got the HD on Saturday. At least mine, in Stevenage town centre did. After amazon customer service replied to me saying still 15th of November, I popped in out of curiosity to ask what their date was and the guy said they'd had three in, ten mins before hand. He checked with his manager and sold me one SIM free for 450.

Thought I'd give you a heads up, although this is my first post, so I hope i don't get accused of being a colrey!

Went into phones4u and had a quick look at it today. Was a very quick look though, the guy couldn't offer me anything close to what I got with MPD and he was offensive to look at and listen to.

Carphone Warehouse told me to look on GSMArena for a release date until her colleague told her she could order one from another branch. But they also couldn't offer me a decent deal on an 18 month contract.

Vodafone store told me they'd have it in 2 weeks. T-Mobile store said they'd have it next week. Oddly enough 02 store also said they'd have it next week...

People in phone shops tend to get upset the second you mention third party online deals as they know they can't match them.

Yeah... the woman in Carphone Warehouse gave me some rubbish along the lines of "but if you buy online you don't get the customer service you get here". Felt like saying "thats a good thing" :D

And seriously the guy in Phones4U was the biggest, most gormless ape I have ever met. Now I remember why I do all my shopping online ^_^

Hmmm. You weren't in their Falmouth store at the weekend were you? I also popped in there but they hadn't had the DHD set-up on their system so she couldn't give me any info. on tariffs etc. But she also a) pointed me to GSM Arena and b) gave me the same spiel about the dangers of buying online!

She was cute though .... :D
