Engadget has put up their review of the Incredible:

Droid Incredible review -- Engadget

I know this is the EVO forum ;-), but a lot of the info about the usability and performance of the Sense UI on the Incredible should be very encouraging to those of us waiting for the EVO. The Incredible also has the same 8mp back camera, which Engadget was also impressed by.

The camera was still being worked on for the EVO at the CTIA, and surely after that, so it is likely the camera in the EVO will be even better than the Incredible.

Granted, I'm not expecting any huge improvements, but since they've had more time to fine-tune it (and may still have more time), I think it's possible it will surpass the Incredible's and not merely equal it.

Still, good to know it's already impressive!

Edit: Not to mention that the EVO will be capable of recording videos at 720p, which the Incredible cannot do.

I doubt any of have seen this yet, So I thought I'd go ahead and share it all with you!!! It's from someone whom I follow on Twitter!! It's a nice lengthy Unboxing of the HTC Incredible!! I know it has nothing to do with the HTC Evo but I thought it would give you all a Nice idea about how the software will be etc.... anyways without further a due here's the HTC Incredible in its unboxing glory!!!

Figured it would give you all something to watch since it's the closest thing sorta, to the HTC EVO

HTC and Verizon look like they've done an extremely wonderful job with the Incredible. If I was going to stick with them, you bet your ass I'd be first in line on April 29th. Still, the funny thing is that this actually gets me even MORE excited for the EVO instead. They've made some great improvements and tweaks with Sense!

I'm excited to see engadget's review of the Incredible and have them verify that it has 8gb internal plus the main rom, plus the sd slot. This makes it inevitable that the evo will have the same or better, which qualifies as one of the extra surprises that Hesse mentioned, and that Jackson has stated as fact. The evo will be the best mobile device ever created!

They also said: "We had numerous occasions where we simply could not answer a call or take a picture due to the AMOLED display's poor showing outdoors." I really really really hope the LCD spec on the evo from ctia doesn't change.

i was actually pretty disappointed in the video and camera shots.the stills still look very blurry to me. my old 2.1 mp digital elph still took better pictures than any camera phone ever will :(

From engagdget about the Incredible:

Because these displays [as the Nexus One] are the same, it means they share the same issues; we disliked the color intensity on the Incredible just as we did on the Nexus One. Reds and oranges, in particularly, look overwhelmingly saturated here, and other colors aren't truly represented. It's just too colorful, if you can believe it. Another somewhat major issue that we struggled with on the Incredible (just as we did on the Nexus One) was the awful screen visibility in bright daylight. We had numerous occasions where we simply could not answer a call or take a picture due to the AMOLED display's poor showing outdoors. In overcast settings (such as the one above) it was usually bearable, and If you crank the brightness all the way up on sunnier days you can get some visibility, though once you're outside and can't see the display, that's a bit of a challenge. In all honesty, we love certain aspects of these screens, but we're perplexed as to why HTC continues to use this same display when it's clear the daylight performance is hamstrung.

Okay, so by your words, show PROOF! If you're so skeptical about everything else, you just magically believe it passed FCC regulations? Come on man, stop heding on the fence one way or another. That's completely hypocritical. You can't call out people as if their F.O.S., but at the same time make some magical claims of belief without having proof yourself. That's such poor tastes, IMO.
ask wjackson for the proof he is the one that said it passed. I am just believing him though if I go with sprints past it wont pass through till early may like the pre did and like the instinct did a month before release

may 5th 2009 when submitted to the FCC going by the FCC own internal documents. jut saying in my OPINION it wont be officially submitted till first week of may but since they know they will pass through (doesn't the fcc do a first look pass through sometimes ?) they production most likely has already started depending on how many they want for launch.

intresting though the HTC incredible passed through FCC in February wonder why sprint takes the slow right with FCC. I hope it passed through around the sametime wonder if I can use this info and cross reference hmmm

hmm not sure what that could be doubt the evo but I am really not sure

Sprint needs to throw us a bone here.
I know this doesn't qualify, but yesterday Self Praise confirmed the EVO 4G will have TFT LCD when it's released. That's been speculated all along, but did not show up in Sprint's official specs.

Another rumor that's been going around is that EVO will ship with Android 2.5 (froyo), but that too is pretty much confirmed according to an article posted by Archon810 yesterday: Exclusive: Google Android 2.5 Froyo ROM And Upcoming Features Leaked! | Android News, Reviews, Applications, Games, Phones, Devices, Tips, Hacks, Videos, Podcasts - Android Police

It seems unlikely that we're going to get much more until next month, when Sprint starts their media blitz, rumored to be May 12th. Considering it was four weeks ago tomorrow that we first learned about the EVO 4G, it's going to be even harder to get through the next 4 weeks. The saving grace at that point is we should know more than we do now and the actual release date should be near.

From the Engadget HTC Incredible review:

"Just don't expect this to stand in for your HD camcorder, and you'll be all set."

The EVO is going to blow the Incredible out of the water.

you don't want to read the last 20 pages?! i'll sum up: nuthin'.

oh; and ajac is trying his best to fire everybody up for some reason.

nope just giving another point of view on the matter which angers some people for some reason. Then one of them tries to start trouble and I am in the wrong for him starting stuff go figure.

hmm this passed through the wifi certification recently

this I think maybe the nexus one for verizon not sure though

I just recently registered after reading this forum for some time; was waiting for the Samsung Moment to be updated and get that - but now just going to have to wait a little longer to get the Evo!

Huge NFL fan - draft later this week. Ndamukong Suh just on ESPN radio with Mike & Mike in the Morning; he and Sam Bradford will be tweeting/blogging from the draft - promoting Sprint's new NFL Live app ... Suh said he was using the HTC Evo for a time and can't wait until it comes out to get one (video was great, etc.)

WHAT??? Lucky SOB....makes sense though. You want who would quite possibly could be a #1 pick and atleast a Top 3 to using your new NFL live app for promotion....might as well give him the phone that will become your flagship, and quite possibly the greatest phone on the market.

Smart move Sprint, smart move.....by the way this is a great sign, means EVO's are pretty much almost ready to go.

Why else would Sprint give a phone thats not even on the market yet, to someone who "probably" wouldnt be anymore than the causual smartphone user?
