what if....

tethering was free if you're only on 4G

but you would be charged an extra $20 for tethering over a certain amount (say 5GB) if you tether while on 3g?

but if you pay an additional $10 - $15, you get free tethering on 3G/4G with no limit?

tell me that doesn't sound pretty good...

i'm just trying to speculate while looking at the current rates for users of Sprint's Hotspot, Clear, and Time Warner's mobile broadband.

and trying to make a deal that sounds too good to pass up and convert from another carrier ;)

Ok, as far as Best Buy goes. We know nothing about pricing or release dates. I don't work in Best Buy Mobile, I do however know WAY more than any of the people in Mobile about the EVO and it is all from you guys. We have have heard nothing about presales either. There has been no official word in our employee news about this phone, period. Not even a mention of it. If anyone from Best Buy tells you something, THEY ARE GUESSING. I check the news every day when I go in for some glimmer of hope. As soon as I know something, I will post it as long as it won't endanger my job. Our Sprint rep has been saying some things that coincide with what is thought to be the concensus here as far as 4G rollouts. That is all we know.

oh man one of my coworker could not wait for the evo and got the incredible. But gain another coworker that didnt know about the evo lol

The way Sprint has been charging the past few years for their "feature" phones makes me think they're going to want at least 250, and maybe 300 or 350 for the EVO. Let's be serious. They want 200 for the Blackberry coming out the end of next month. RIGHT before the EVO. And that is hardly packing the features the EVO is. Sure Android is cheaper, HTC makes discount phones, blah blah. Sprint KNOWS they can charge more for it. They charged 350 for the Touch Pro. 300 for the Touch Diamond. 200 for the tiny plastic feeling Pre. The EVO is packing the biggest screen ever. The ONLY 4G radio on the market. The fastest processor, most RAM, and they're including an 8 gb memory card. How could they NOT charge 300?

I don't want to sound negative, but people might want to assume they're going to spend at least $250 after discount/rebates.

The one thing Sprint is missing out on adding to the EVO is to make it a world phone. That would really complete it and make it easy for customer's who travel to join Sprint.

I was also a little worried about the price after they released the BB for $200 this morning. However, with the HD2 and Incredible both at $200 I doubt sprint can go much higher with out losing customers to tmobile and verizon.

Just FYI, the site that posted the Best Buy price "leak" is sort of a garbage blog. I've seen a lot of speculation articles and just plain wrong info there.

Also, I'm gonna throw a guess of $250 into the ring!

Yeah because the guy at Geek Squad knows more about the phones the guys in Mobile sell. Let's not try to fool ourselves the source is completely BS, he however has a good chance at guessing the price.

This waiting for some news is killing me. I was looking at the contest rules for the ten lucky people who will receive the EVO first and noticed that the blogging is scheduled to end on 8/31/10. That date concerns me that the release could be after that, I hope not. I know Bill got beat up yesterday for saying a possible late summer release but this date is concerning.

there is a big difference between the evo and the tp2. the tp2 is a corp class phone that was marketed for big corps where as the evo is the mainline phone. that prbly why its missing the gsm slot. if they make this phone 350 then no way are people gonna switch from iphone or verizon even if its a kick a** phone. if its 200 ill keep my 3rd line open and get 2 of them just for the heck of it basically a backup or one with stock ruu and the other with unoffical roms.
