I personally do not like vibrating feedback, whatsoever. You can always turn it off, right?

From what I remember (unless you have some custom ROM installed) you can just go to the android keyboard settings and theres an option to "vibrate on key press" or something like that. Uncheck it and that should turn it off. In the dialer pad, it's pretty similar. You click menu and there's a "haptic feedback" option that you just uncheck. Someone with an Android phone please verify. I'm just going from memory

Idk, I guess I'm indifferent when it comes to the haptic feedback. I have a POS Instinct which has it so I've gotten used to it. I also have an ipod touch which doesnt and I get by fine either way. Thank god I bought the ipod touch to keep myself from using my upgrade cuz I knew this was coming.

Right on the front page of Phandroid...Sprint releasing EVO 4G data plan tomorrow! This is starting to get exciting. I'm still curious about the HTC Incredible for Verizon...but I think this might keep me with Sprint. I'm especially revved up thinking about 4G speeds here in Austin! :D

I'm happy to see you back here, adrion. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. For me, I can't imagine why you would still be interested in the Incredible when you're already a Sprint customer and the EVO 4G is going to be released in a couple of months. That's me though.

Reading the Phandroid article has me all confused again. Maybe I was under the wrong impression but I thought 4G wouldn't cost any more or have a surcharge. Phandroid speculates tiered plans or a pay-per-GB system. It's just speculation but it still has me a bit worried. There's nothing that would stop me from getting the EVO 4G other than the price of the plan because I'm on a family plan. Hopefully we find out soon.

I agree with this. I think the part that would bother me about it is that I don't live in a 4G area (It is supposed to be here by the end you the year), so why would I want to pay more then I am paying now.

I would be upset with Sprint after they just said at the announcement of EVO that with 4G they can produce more GB for cheaper. If its costing you less to get the bandwidth, then why would you charge me more?

Hey Bill, I never left...just lurking. Yeah...I get what you're saying about the Incredible...but I want to see the rates for the plan...and the ultimate release date. I promised my wife that we would just wait until the end of this past year...then I've strung her along waiting for the N1...then the Incredible...and now the EVO 4G. I told her this past Feb...we WILL have phones by the middle of May. I keep lying! :o:p:D So fair is fair. It's tough. I actually think I will prefer the EVO 4G to the Incredible...but if the Incredible releases in the next month...that may be two to three months before the EVO. Of course...if the EVO announces a release date that is sooner...like early June....then it may just happen. At some point I have to let her decide. She already knows about the EVO...and I think she would be on board for either phone. So...back to lurking. Really glad we will know more tomorrow! :)

I agree that this would be a concern...but the cool thing is that they are going to announce something tomorrow. It would be awesome if they would at least give early adopters and current Sprint customers the option of locking in on a "no up-cost plan" to keep and attract a lot of new customers. This way, they grow their base...and then once they establish how hot the plan is and increase their number of subscribers...they can adjust as the market allows. If they increase costs from the start...people might hesitate to come on board. I think the previous idea would be much smarter...and all the more reason to jump fast or not at all. If I go with the EVO...it will be within the first week to be sure!

Good Morning, SoFLO. According to Supersonical, aka wjackson14 from the Sprint forums, we should know about the release date and plan pricing on April 16th. See his post here. I do remember Dan Hesse saying during his keynote, that in the future we would be talking about GB instead of minutes. That lead me to believe heavy users may have to pay more, but we should know more about that on April 16th.

Sprint has also said they will not charge extra for using the 4G network.

I don't think we'll find out anything tomorrow (see my post to SoFLO #927). The word around here (generally) is that the EVO will be released in early June. It might even be sold by BestBuy in late May or very early June, but I don't want to speculate much more than that right now. If Supersonical is right, we should know a lot more on April 16th.

Morning Bill. Judging by Hesse's and Sprint's statements they're right they won't charge extra for 4G over 3G...but I see them revamping all of their plans to accommodate the 4G and in the future charging by the GB for all plans that way 4G will not be charged more than 3G (good marketing point). So in a way I see it depending on the individual's use of data determining the overall cost. I think there will be a cap...how much our wallets can handle. I think it's plausible for sure.

March 24th was bittersweet because my spring break ended but the EVO 4G was unveiled. Now April 16th is bittersweet; more details about the EVO 4G but finals for school! :( I can't catch a break lol.

Here's my thought, tomorrow will bring news that we will not have to pay a premium for 4g, but we will have to pay if we use the phone as a mobile hotspot.

yep. that has been the main talk this week. there are a few guys over in the sprint thread that have taked about the meeting, and they have no idea what it is for. all they know is that it is mandatory.

I'm thinking they are going to start laying out the details and training schedules for the employees. This looks like Sprint is going all out and the new alignment will take multiple steps. Curious to see how it all works out. I still don't see any new plans for the time being. The everything data plans are fairly new and are a main selling point of theirs. In the future they may start selling VOIP and data-only plans but I don't see that happening for several years.

Speculating it will be released 1st week of June so just wanted it to countdown to the first of June. Totally arbitrary because it's any day around that :)

Officially, they did say a summer release. I believe summer starts around the 23rd of June.

Been reading this morning that the secret meeting is about a new stock option for employees of the company. Which business wise is a big deal compared to just an announcement of a new phone and its data plans.

TS out
