I just can't see a world where the EVO outsells the iPhone HD/4G/XX in the first month. Apple has such a loyal following that Sprint does not even come close to having. Add to that Sprint's cruddy reputation that they're trying to overcome and they've got a long road ahead of them when it comes to outselling the iPhone.
Yeah, Apple and the iPhone brand are juggernauts.
The only way I see the EVO outselling the iPhone is if Sprint already has a lot of corporate sales taken care of. I can definitely see corporations having interest in 4G and video teleconferencing. But, since 4G is currently in very limited markets at the moment... we shall see.
Just like the pre has a 4 g radio?
This is a landmark product , but the network has alot if challenges as well.

True, there is that. BB has the corporate world on lock down, it seems...but I could very much see the corporate world going gaga over 4G and video conferencing...bu I don't know how much sales that would generate with the EVO. We will see!

look, bro; I'm not saying you don't have an inside track somehow, as a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure you do, but how 'bout a little humility? The self-praise is getting old. I know you have your detractors here and you feel slighted and need to defend yourself, but nobody likes a "told-you-so." just say your peace and let it speak for itself.

While I don't necessarily buy that Evo will outsell the new iPhone, I don't see how the "market" for the Evo is smaller than that for the iPhone, especially when you compare 3G coverage...

Posting videos to Qik will be pretty awesome, that's very true.
I thought we covered the 4G on the Pre ordeal already...it's a hardware issue, and one not declared in the FCC filing.

I don't think I nor anyone else is throwing a hissy fit. It is just conversation. I do agree with a lot of what you said though. But YOU need not correct us or "put" us in our places, believe me a lot of us have real world business experience. As I said I don't think myself or anyone else is throwing that hissy fit you were speaking of. It is okay to state your opinion in this country.

Even then, it's a small market for just 4 g.

The evo market is huge, just like many companies made the switch from black berries to iphones, they are not doing so from iphones to Evo's.

For the record, I don't care who sells more phones....I just want my Evo, in all its' glory, in my hand ASAP! I know enough about the specs to know this is THE phone to have to meet my needs.
First of all if Jackson mentioned the modded 2.1 AFTER ctia, why would I need to find info 2 weeks earlier that ctia. How about I try to find info around the same time Jackson posted his info. that would be more fair. No?
And actually a friend of mine mentioned the modded 2.1 idea in our computer science class. And guess what. He has no "insiders" at all. He just said that it makes sense with whats going on with Android. He is a super geeky and on top of his phones and knows tons of OS stuff.
If you are putting all your money in Jackson stock because he mentioned modded 2.1--you need to take a look into you portfolio because you might have some bad stock.
I have not really seen many things mentioned here other than ballpark figures. I need hard numbers and hard facts for me to be convinced. And I have not seen that. I have seen posts of different dates and ballpark prices.
Now if somebody mentioned the price to be 211.42 and then the phone was released and the price was really that. I would say that person new somebody on the inside. But "the price will be $200 to $250" does not convince me. I mean what are 99% of high end smartphones selling for these days. thats right--$200 bucks. So its a safe number to guess and make you look good. I am just not sold on anybody's info here.
And this is no knock on Jackson at all or anybody for that matter. I really would like to think we have an insider here. I really would. But I just don't see anything posted that makes me go "Oh my GOD!!!!how did he know that. He must know an insider"

I'm not going to go over why i am legit again ok? I can;t believe this is even a question right now. Anyone here will stand up for me. i have provided all of the info weeks before anything leaked, just like the release date of the phone. I was the first one to say modded 2.1 as far back as March specifying that it would ahve to be modded to to the WiMAX connection. What came out in the next few days? OHHH something about how it will have to be modded because android 2.1 does not recognize WiMAX. All these periodicals watch this thread you know. They see the info thrown around and they know when to bite.

Not to cause any drama but I was at a party last saturday and I was the only person there who new what the EVO 4G or the Droid Incredible was and every one was talking about the iPhone 4G and a possible vzw iPhone. Of course me being a EVO owner in waiting I had to tell them enjoy paying twice the amount I pay for a phone that will do half as much..
The point is these people at the party were all between the age 21-34.. This speaks volumes in the argument of the EVO outselling the iPhone.. If vzw gets it i believe it would cause a big blow especially with the market share numbers that the iPhone just posted. I believe the iPhone will definitely loss market share if they stick with an AT&T iPhone.
With that said a vzw iPhone won't be worth it when ship jumping AT&T customers realize they can't talk and use the data at the same time on vzw's 3G network like they could with AT&T's then that should lead them to become EVO owners... bahahahaha!!!

Again, I'm excited about this product. I've had 20 calls dropped inlast week. Pissed me off. I believe it's ipad related.
CDMA is voice boosted and I am looking foward to that.
Let's not compare but be glad we have options that's all.

When some people think of Sprint, they think of the "terrible service" of the past. Once burned, NEVER going back. I actually went to Sprint hearing the bad things. I've loved it since day one!!
The COO of the company I work for said he is dropping AT&T "AS SOON AS VERIZON GETS AN iPHONE"!!! He can't wait. He says he drops 2 -3 calls a day, and with what he does, he can't afford to drop calls. He's an Apple Fanboy, btw.

Wow, it seem that every weekend since people have nothing to do but argue on the web we end up shutdown. This is suppose to be fun and informative. Come on keep it movin, I like to read the post and laugh and say I did not know that. Some people like to blow their own horn let them. Eveyone does it some time or another. As long as we keep the infromation about the EVO we should be good to go. So I hope I can keep reading and laughing till we get more info. Thanks for staying sane everybody.
