Official EVO Rumors and Speculation thread

So, here's a possible solution to the $10 extra for having an Evo that I am going to try.

Last time I signed a 2 year contract with Sprint in April 2008, they offered me a monthly 10% discount on my bill for the length of the contract, simply for being with them for a few years and for paying my bills on time and whatnot.

I'm thinking it'd be worth it to request the discount this time around. That'd knock 8 bucks off an $80 monthly plan, which would basically mean I'd be paying 2 extra bucks a month for the Evo, rather than 10. It's worth a shot, no?

lemme know if that works.. I already have to suck up to them for the upgrade

stand in line

I'm just going to pre-order at Radio Shack. The way I see it: there's a possibility that I may get the phone on the 29th. Worst case scenario: I get the phone on the 4th at radio shack. First things first though, I'm going to try and get the phone online--hopefully through EVP since they claim that they sometimes get the phone out to you before the normal release date.

Especially since I will still have to stand in line if I pre-order through BB...

Actually I'm not. I was pissed because early in the day he posted info stated as fact that I based a real life decision on, which he later contradicted, discrediting himself. I called it out, he apologized, so did I, and hopefully no feelings were hurt.

lol guys it's only 10 bucks a month, yea it kinda stinks but get over it, it's a [deleted] killer phone for 199!!!!! would you rather it be 299? yea sure you'd save 20 bucks but you'd lose 100 down front... get over it and move on, if the 10 makes you not want this phone then you didn't want it to begin with, find me a comparable plan with ANY netowork with unlimited data, text, web, 4g now too, and 450 minutes for 79 or whatever... it's still cheaper than anyone else
I am going to stick with my SERO plan for $30 a month. I have unlimited data/texting and 500 minutes a month. I can do without the 4G. For 2 phones, I am paying about $72 with all taxes included. If Sprint allows me to buy a new EVO at full price of $450 and still be able to keep the SERO plan, then I'll go for the EVO. If not, I have no issues with my Touch Pro 2.

does any 1 know when premier customers can pre-order through sprint i got my email lastnight sayin the release date and eveything but i didnt see when i could pre-order

$10 for 4G sucks.dan hesse said that 4G will be free.i think ill go with the droid incredible instead.it seem sprint has a habit of lying to their customers.i bet as soon as hesse saw how hyped we all got over the EVO4G he figured he could squeeze a few more dollars out of everyone.why isn't anyone calling him out on this?

When TS gets back he is going to have a ball with this thread. Some posts have been deleted for now, everyone keep a calmer head please.
No, actually I'm going to go through and clean it up. I don't want TS to have to do this right when he gets home. At about what page does it turn ugly CRP?

Cant find any info on Radio Shacks site about the evo. But in BB you can... Who is going to Best Buy today or Radio Shack?

At first I was pretty p*ssed off about this upcharge. I still am to a degree as we were certainly led to believe 'no extra charge for 4G' from the CEO.

Perspective though still refects a $200 ETF vs. VZW's $350 and of course all the additional perks of the Everything Plans.

Now I don't know what to do? I have 15 bucks in Rewards from BB that expires June 6th.. But I was going to maybe do the buy back at Sprint or RS whoever gave me more for my Pro 2. Noone is going to let you have the phone before June 4th are they? Does Telesales ever let you slide a day or two early. Guess I am going into my RS tomorrow cause they want to see this chip on my phone and then they are going to tell me how much I can get for it.. I so can't wait for this phone.

You should try selling it on ebay. I'm sure you'll get way more than what RS will give you.

Has anyone checked this out? I'm actually a part time student at a university (work full time) does this actually work?

Is it just my thinking or is sprint really messing this up. I mean comon people we are all excited about the evo but how many do you think they will actually sell. The average consumer doesn't want a phone this big. I can't wait to get it but for most people its not even an option and for the few that considered it, the $10 fee just moved them further away. I think that sprint will be very very suprised about the sales of this device.
