Honestly I'm not surprised. In another lifetime, I was a happy Nextel customer and dismayed when Sprint bought them. While they've progressed leaps and bounds since (I'm still here, aren't I?), I remember when they tried to merge the Nextel and Sprint websites... that was a fuster-cluck of a epic grand magnitude.

It doesn't help that the site isn't simple, straightforward HTML... but they have a LOT of underlying technology driving that site. Having worked in the web dev industry during the dot-com boom, I saw many sites try to migrate from one technology back-end to another and turn into a total mess.

What does surprise me is that Sprint STILL has not gotten their act together. But I suppose I shouldn't be surprised... and I guess I'm not. Confused yet? :p
 
We know that the EVO is capable of outputting video via HDMI (micro / mini / whatever). Delving further into that - what do we know about the audio output via HDMI? My assumption would be that we would get the full gamut, including DD 5.1 / DTS / whatever you can send down HDMI. Anyone know if that's a true story or not?

Man it would be so cool to go to this event. I would never say that about any other phone. EVO is greatness.
 
Regarding the media aspect. I think the best bet is to have a charger with you wherever you normally go. I absolutely hated the extended battery on my pre because it made a nice looking phone (imho) look like Frankenstein's monster, but the extra juice was so tempting I ended up using it anyway. I refuse to do that again. I also plan on getting a couple of wall warts to keep in each of my cars so that if I'm at a friends and we are looking for a movie to watch, i can just grab my evo and a wall wart and bam, instant netflix box (eventually).

My work is literally around 6 miles from where the Premiere is going to be...but still at least a 30 minute drive through LA rush hour (more like 45, actually).

True that might be the ideal place to hold it, but it was mentioned west of the javits which is about 3-4 avenues west of that location.
Ther is also another Disney theater I believe right on 42 st. but still 3-4 blocks away from the javits.

I can probably answer that in about a week, if its not already posted by then. Bill posted the link to the sprint link that showed up coming cities that was up to date.. there might be some more soon though
