The device released to stores are not complete devices with full specs, but demos for training and the real specs will be revealed on launch date.

Does this say anything about the circles around the buttons or the red speaker grille? Jackson says that there are no circles and that the final production models will be grey, but if that picture is to be believed, then he's incorrect--unless this phone is one of the "not complete devices."

But hey we are getting the better phone. It has 2 CAMERAS, 4.3" screen, KICKSTAND, HTC SENSE, and a snapdragon processor.

The Galaxy has two cameras (though ours are better). It has a 4" Super AMOLED screen, which I would take over the 4.3" LCD (sorry, but even in a shitty youtube video, the screen on that thing is magnificent. Magnificent!). The Hummingbird is objectively better than the Snapdragon, and is more power efficient--this should change with the release of the 45nm Snapdragon later this year, but... well, you know. That's later. You're definitely right about Sense--it kicks the shit out of whatever Samsung slapped in that phone. The kickstand is great, as well. The Galaxy does have 16GB of storage, and is a fair bit thinner though, to be fair.

Processor, memory and software..( I think the software will come as an update) I think it will be updated regularly for about 6 months..

You are dead wrong on the LTE stuff. In fact LTE I think will be a let down and never meet the potential that wimax will. If you post again I will give you my reasons why.

Verizon even admitted recently the speed they anticipated for lte was not met in real world testing.. Also wimax will have roaming soon. LTE I doubt it will happen or if it does will it be any time soon.

Also LTE build out cost will be staggering in comparison to wimax

I know this is a long shot, but it can't hurt to ask. I'm about 100 miles from DC in a college town (Charlottesville, home of UVA), any chance that the university being here will expedite the roll out locally?

so is your opnion but wimax chief and dan hesse are already talking about turning wimax into lte their 80% compatible for a reason. go watch the sprint CTIA keynote again.

oh I am all for wimax its just going by what dan hesse and wimax chief said durign the keynote and the sprint purchasing of spectrum related to lte last month.

With out a doubt RiverofIce has the technology down. I am a noob compared to her and would always let her be the one to lay down the wimax law. She knows her stuff.

I honestly think so.. The plan looks like a major NE coverage from Florida to RI.. So I don't doubt it.. The problem is time frame everyone wants it now..

Also again Schools, government, Corps and certain industries will get priority

Hesse said during his keynote that (if they needed to) they would meet LTE half way for the good of the industry and for the good of the users worldwide. According to what RiverOfIce wrote, if I'm reading it right, with a dual radio chip, it would allow the EVO 4G to work on LTE or WiMAX. That could be helpful once LTE starts getting built out, but so far, they haven't even started. In the meantime, WiMAX is going gangbusters and they have a lot of bandwidth that LTE lacks, so WiMAX will not be going out. That's for sure.

I am working on-site at Clearwire and the 4G network guys are working with the Evo right now and have several fully working, release models on-hand to evaluate the network integration with 4G. Not sure how the Clearwire and Sprint Wimax network ownership works, but it seems Clearwire is validating all of the functionality of the device on their network right now. They are expecting go-live in the next two weeks for the device from their current project plans.

Again, not sure what the deal is with Clearwire working on it for the Clear 4G network, but since it is the same network, maybe Clearwire operates the 4G part, or maintains it or something?

That was said because they wanted everyone to know that LTE was a possibility and they did not know they would get the wimax support that was shown a few months later. Investor and roaming partner purposes

but wont be as huge as LTE. and sprint cant run a wimax network alone in the US when her competittion is all going lte. What will happen is eventually the 2 will be compatibile with each other and wimax and lte will be merged into one. Sorry you dont like that idea much but its what will happen.

Corret Bill. Sprint said that becuase LTE was being talked about as King dingaling.. But I believe it will not out pace Wimax and it is lacking spectrum and roaming partners right now..

Wimax has already signed and have in place future roaming agreements.

PS. Can you list the LTE networks that are up and operational AJAC???

Wimax is going to cover all of the rural areas that the cable and phone companies can't afford to reach and be resold to small business and large corporations as back up systems..

Govt and commercial will use it for infrastructure uses. I mean like whole cites..

You can keep that LTE dream alive if you want to.. But in the mean time Buy Sprint and Clearwire 4g Stock

If i remember correctly, the article that orginally posted that "36% the power.." and 3x the gpu power of the snapdragon was only testing the the gpu of the Galaxy S... not in its entirety.

It was a while back in this thread that those numbers are indicating one thing but in reality it will not be that powerful.

I guess an example would be: I could buy the very best top of the line graphics card for a computer right now and by itself it is the greatest. However, if you put that card into a computer case with 1-1 1/2 year old parts, in actuality it doesn't run as fast as u would assume... I believe the pc term is "bottleneck"

To add to this, I do believe wimax has the backing of very strong, influential, and wealthy companies including intel, motorola, and samsung. Also, the government has put billions into wimax.
