Bay area is a hot spot of 4g activity. there is a triangle of big name companies (Intel, Cisco and can't remember the third.. maybe Google?) that are doing wimax developement with Clear and I suspect when they roll out SF, it will be some pretty nice coverage for the bay.

Purely speculation on my part, but seems logical. Seems like Eieio has confirmed that we are good to go here too.

So yeah it would be really good to have 4G up and running here and get the word spreading about using the EVO in all these companies (except Microsoft and Apple of course LOL)

I think it looks cool as hell. I'm definitely on board with the white. Way more flashy.

On a side note, did you see the sticker on the back "UPDATED" ?? It has a red speaker grill but it's updated? Could be old footage... But I would love the white back with red speaker grill. I guess I want to be noticed.

edit: it is old footage. Comments below date back a month ago... It's still great lookin

The iPhone is a household name and Evo is a great upgrade but people are weird creatures. They go with the bandwagon despite direct evidence to the contrary. I say wait on that... if you can, trade your current phone for a hero if possible or buy one if you'd like. I was lucky enough to have traded my Pre for a Hero around Easter Time. I also did one more thing.... This may not sound like it relates, but I received a $100 GC from Chase bank to open an account with them, so I did.... The way I figure it I'll have bought my EVO from Best Buy and with my $100 GC my purchase has just been lightened by half... I mentioned this as a possibility for you to possibly buy a Hero of Craigslist and justify it with a chase account freebie...... don't judge me:o
 
Glad to see the thread back open. I was actually able to be productive at work yesterday!!! Don't need my boss thinking I am actually that productive all the time. Then they will have expectations!!!!! :)

RiverOfIce, the existence of a "framework" actually suggests that the functionality was not originally included in Android OS. And in the same article you linked to it clearly says: "The network connectivity on Android is currently limited to 3G and Wi-Fi." --- then the next sentence is --- "WiMAX Framework will provide the functionality to connect to WiMAX networks on Android OS."

Okay, then I thought about the "236 days" ago... and saw that it was 9/9/2009 (I clicked on the link and it showed the date.) So then I went looking to see what version of Android was out at that point in time and it appears that it was 1.6... So then I thought: Okay, it is possible that Android 2.x might have the framework integrated, so wouldn't there be something about it on Android Dev website? So I look and I search on the website and nothing... I search only for "WiMax" and nothing... I searched for "3G" and a bunch of stuff comes up... same thing when I search for "WiFi", bunch of stuff... again nothing comes up when I searched for "WiMax."

So what does all this mean? The only thing (I think) it means is that non of us can be proven correct (or incorrect) about anything until its all made official. And then we will know who was right, and who was not. In the mean time all this conversation should just be fun, there is no reason at all to get angry, frustrated, or offended.

I have a feeling that video has been posted before...but it's the first time I saw it. Thanks for posting...probably one of the better ones I've seen for the EVO. I think I'll go ahead and register for Qik now.
