I don't know if I'm as worried about the advertising as I am about future support and updates. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

How many times have you locked and opened this thread in three days? Cripes. Glad to it's not just me that apparently is struggling to keep themselves in line.
 
I asked a bestbuy employee today how the pre order there would work because I'm trying to figure out my best chance of having the EVO on day one guaranteed, whether it's at a sprint store, best buy, or radio shack. He said there's no way to guarantee your spot on a list for it. You pay $50 and get what's basically a gift card, but if there are more people in line before you on release day and they run out, you're out of luck. I'm a little skeptical of the sprint stores having them right away because it took them months after the touch pro2 was released before they had one to show me. Maybe Radio Shack will be the way to go?

i thought google will be doing things different(better) with froyo...i dont think we will have much to worry about since google will be providing the updates through the market instead of the carriers
 
Good to see that June 6th is looking more and more like the official release date. Can't wait for the official word, however.
 
whew... lol that actually made me have to spend time with the kids! ;)

As much as I wish it was coming in May and would so LOVE to believe that - my logical gut points to June as well *sigh* ... maybe I have been driven crazy by the children...
 
I was actually considering not coming back to this thread when it re-opened. I don't think anyone would notice if I didn't, let's try not to let this happen again. For the most part I really enjoy it here. Anyway, as I stated earlier today I am really surprised we have not seen more of the Evo caught in the wild. Usually by now some employee posts a pic on Twitter or there is a Youtube video. Why do you guys think we haven't seen this yet? Besides the obvious NDA's. Do you think we will see more "unauthorized" pics and or videos after the May 12th event?

And actually...the thread was closed once while I was posting, and 2-3 times following my temp-ban. Coincidence? I think not! ;)

Why would they sell more gift cards then units on hand?
 
Personally, I'd like an all-out media blitz. While not as bad as is portrayed in the media, Sprint doesn't seem to be doing so well. I'd like for them to throw most of what they have at advertising for this phone, because it is a gold mine. A veritable gold mine.

But it may be less so, comparatively, once the new iPhone comes out. I imagine that this is why they're being a bit hesitant.

LOL. I own a Hero so no date means anything to me... :rolleyes:

I won't believe the EVO is being released until it's in my hands. Until then it's all a dream to me.

i think they should also show people how bad the other networks are..not verizon of course lol
 
Maybe I'm just not seeing the relation polkadots...I'm bad at conspiracies lol.

I never really bought into the May rumors of an EVO release. I always had June 6th in my mind so I'm satisfied.

For one thing, they may not know exactly how many they'll get. But I think the main point is that people can wait in line on release day without having the preorder gift card, and get one before someone with a card who's behind them in line. So basically it's not a preorder at all, it's just selling gift cards.

roflmao at least you have a Hero to occupy you.. I got a Samsung Rant.. that has seen better days... if I could keep it from freezing up all the time and dying.. that would be fanfreakingtastic!!! :D

That kind of sucks and defeats the purpose wouldn't one think? I would like to think that if I take the time to "pre-order" and pay to get a gift card.. I should get my dibs lol but hell I am selfish.. they should do it like the PS3's at Christmas.. line up - you get a ticket at the door.. no ticket no Evo :D
