Actually, just wanted to point out that it's not the "only" reason. I speculated June 6 because EVP discounts end on June 5. A similar situation happened with the Touch Pro/Diamond, where the release date was geared around Sprint's "scheduled" discount sheet (maybe rebella could clarify how this works, since she works at Sprint). From my understanding, the discount sheet (internal Sprint schedule) always has an expiration and a new one is released on the next day with a new expiration. Same thing with EVP.

That's the main reason I'm going with June 6, but by no means will I say that this will dictate when/how Sprint decides to release the EVO. If Sprint wants to launch the phone earlier, that's great! It'll be fantastic if the EVO releases earlier than the 6th, but I'm taking into consideration EVP's catering towards employees of large corporations, so that would be the only reason I'm not expecting it to be available any earlier.

they were closer than that; when they were first posted, it said they were 16 minutes apart. from his narration, it was pretty clear that he said he was in ny for the event on both videos.

i commented on qik under one of the videos, now they're gone.
 
Between BSOD and Rob asking us what we want to hear, my spirits are really getting boosted for tonight's event. Not that I didn't believe it was happening (ok, for a short time I did), but things are coming together nicely.

OK agents out there we have his name. what is his email assuming he works for Sprint if he has EVO? We can ask him question via email. He is obviously willing to share.

That's true. I did hear him say he was in NY on both videos. Anyone that saw the videos notice the advertisement that was playing in the background....same advertisement that was posted here a couple of weeks ago. I can't remember who posted it but good find!!!
 
I didn't get to post this on here last night, but I was at work and decided to check the Celtics vs. Cavs score before I headed out the door. On nba.com, they usually have links to a live TNT feed (stream) that you can watch the game. Luckily, the game was still going (even though the Cavs were getting blown out). I'm a basketball fanatic (diehard Laker fan) and when I went to click on the live feed, I saw the screens with HTC EVO ads all over (hard NOT to notice). For fear that the link I posted on other forums wouldn't show the full effect of the ads, I took 3 print screens for everyone to see.

I don't fully understand how Qik works, but is it possible that the one of the recordings was made earlier in the week and uploaded from a different location? I think the video showing the "chocolates" on the table was likely made today. Seems like they still have a lot of setup to do in the remaining hours...;)

i'm guessing it's the email list from the sprint site. the one we all signed up for to be notified when it will be available. i have a feeling we'll all know a week before we get an email from sprint.

They may be speaking figuratively, and just mean to say that many people are anticipating the EVO arrival... what do you think? I don't think they are talking about a literal list of consumers... could be talking about media sites that want to review the EVO?

As did I... I only hope that either A.) those clips were shot using the front facing camera, B.) shot with another phone / camera all together or C.) Qik just compresses the hell out of the video and thats why it looked so grainy....

Can you or eieio provide more info about the Towerco connection? I checked their site and found towers near me. Are these supposed to be 4G towers? (they show up as Monopole and Self-support).

yeah, i assume he needs to manually set his location, and he didn't. or something.

maybe this whole thing is a ruse. there is no evo. there is no spoon. we're through the looking glass here, people.

What if the 4G video meant 4G was now live in NYC? That'd be a longshot though because I don't see why Clearwire or Comcast wouldn't be there as well if it was to announce 4G.

Actually, I didn't think NYC would be the place to premiere this movie anyway. I thought it'd be premiered in LA where Disney has a huge studio presence.

I hope the Evo doesn't get buried like that BB device did with the U2 intro. Anyone remember that - how BB was just some booth off on the side at a huge concert? Please Sprint, don't let that happen!
