That's a lot better price. I just checked Memory Suppliers and still shows out of stock. It'll be interesting to see what the price is when they get them in stock again. In the past Memory Suppliers price has been a little less than the direct from Sandisk price. Good to see the price coming down. It doesn't say what class the 32GB card is however.

All Sandisk cards are Class 2.

Assume they have but reviewers are typically under an agreement not to release reviews until xx/xx date.

Bet you're right on this one. Going to see a bunch of reviews 1-2 days before Evos show up in retail stores. I'll be looking for them by Thursday/Friday this week.

Well I just figured they would go ahead and have some review units ready to be reviewed already since they announced launch date and all that jazz. Just seemed a little odd to me we haven't seen any. Then again I don't really keep tabs on how long "before' the phone comes out that we see reviews. I though the Pre was reviewed like a good month before it was released...same with the HD2.

Not sure what to make of Sprint's strategy, but my guess is that they want the reviews to be more a part of the release now since the build-ups already been done. They think they have a winner, and nothing would confirm that more than a ton of positives hitting the waves at the same time. It would also mean that no one site is likely to carry too much weight as they often do when they're the first to post something substantial.

Ok, I just got back from the sprint store, and they had an evo!!! I knew they did, but this time they let me play with it for 10 mins. It is HUGE!!!! but soooo awesome. I cannot wait until 6/4, it's gonna be a great day. There was only one problem with my visit...once I got it in my hands I was so dumbfounded by its beauty that I didn't really do anything with it other than look...lol. I did have the presence of mind to open qik and try it out. It worked great, no lag at all and really really nice picture. The guy I spoke to said no pre orders but he may be able to hold one for me on release day. I asked about the $10 and he had to ask what it was for, the general concensus was that it was for 4g network expansion. He said that 4g would be launched in orlando, jacksonville and miami this year and would be here, tallahassee, at the beginning of next year.

HOLY CRAP IT'S AWESOME!

Holy crap, you're from Tallahassee? Me too man, I didn't know anyone else from the forums was from here. Did you pre-order your EVO? Because as you may know, the sole BB in our area doesn't carry Sprint phones, I was dissapointed.

They had the EVO at the Monroe store, is that what you're saying? You have no idea how much I want to play with it, lol. Please verify that it's there so I can go drive down sometime and beg them to let me play with it.

Are you sure about Tallahassee getting 4G, who mentioned that to you? Sorry, I've just been trying to find out myself. Funny thing is, I used to live in Miami, in Jacksonville, and I've been to Tampa several times, so I feel a bit bitter that they all get it before we do, haha, I mean we are the capital of Florida, if anything, we should get it first!

Good afternoon all of you! So my upgrade eligibility is June 1st of this coming month and I'm a premier member of sprint so we get that annual upgrade price. I placed my order through the EVP site which my company thankfully gives a corporate discount on monthly service of 23%. Anyways if any of you choose to go the Employee Value Program - Home - route then:

1. You will FIRST get a confirmation that your upgrade request is being processed. You will be emailed a PDF copy of your application immediately.

2. If you order during business time M-F then they will immediately process your order and send you another email that says:

Hi ___,

I received your pre order to upgrade to the HTC Evo. Your pre order has been submitted and will ship out as soon as the phone becomes available. I will send you a confirmation email once your phone has shipped out. Thank you!

If you order during the weekend, then you will get the email on Monday to confirm your order.

You will be charged for the phone on your bill unless you have one of those funky situations where you have to pay first - then they will call you to get a card # for payment.

3. Otherwise that seems to be it...they ship it the day it "becomes available" which I'm thinking June 4th or who knows if it's earlier than that.

Just wanted to let you guys know in case you were considering the EVP discount route. Check with the companies you work for if they have a deal with EVP if you want to pre-order.

This must be the 3rd party reseller site. The link to Company Private Store that Sprint sends does not even show the Evo so you cannot pre-order it. I confirmed that with a Sprint CSR on the phone.

Seems that Sprints really letting 3rd party resellers get first crack at pre-ordering.

Also makes me hope that Sprint did this to gauge how many more units to have available for 3rd party resellers upon release. Sprint better make sure it has enough supply for it's own employees to sell at release because not being able to do pre-order's probably driving them crazy.

Actually I'm from Ft. Lauderdale, but yes I live in Tally now. I did not pre order. I was thinking of going through evp, but that's why I went into the store today, I wanted to see if the guy I usually deal with in there would be able to put one aside for me on launch day, he said that he most likely would but to call him a little closer to launch day. Yes, the monroe store has one in stock and they let me play with it, I didn't have to beg or anything, just asked. Ask for Roy he is my contact there and is a pretty good guy. He was the one that told me about the 4g here after I asked, and seemed pretty sure about those 3 getting it before us, but you have to take that kind of thing with atleast a few grains of salt.
Are you going to buy from that store on launch day, I plan on getting there at around 8 am, maybe we should meet up there.

Its interesting to note that the Radio Shack close to one of my work facilities, is not taking any waiting list for the EVO, they just said, to come in the 4 or 5th, since they will be ordering alot of them.

things that make you go hmmmm.

TS out

I have a small computer repair business in the St Louis metro area (Illinois side 15 miles from downtown). I got a invite in the mail today to resell Clear WiMAX.

The invite states "Super fast mobile internet now covering St Louis"

Could this mean its ready to go now?

They are screwing up big time. Every Radio Shack in the country is supposed to be taking pre-orders.

Played with an Evo today for about 15 minutes. Noticed two weird things:

- HTC Sense clock on home screen doesn't animate like it does on the HD2. Usually the numbers flap over like an old analog clock. On the Evo, it's just changed with no animation.

- Phone only goes into landscape one way (I believe with the earpiece on the left side when holding it). Might take a few days getting used to.

I'll try to answer any other questions...

Awesome! Do you know if there is a way to get a landscape homescreen, a la the Nexus One?

I've got no idea honestly. I've heard of people hacking Android phones into doing it, but the Evo won't out of the box.

- Also, the box is super-tiny. Much smaller than what it appears like in all of those leaked photos. It's smaller than the Pre box.

Smaller than the Pre box! That is very, very surprising.

It's not weird really.

The first thing is a Windows Mobile only thing. My Sprint Hero and other 2.1 ROMs I've seen with Sense do not animate the clock. Weather, yes. Clock, no.

The second thing is really an Android thing, from what I've seen. My Hero has always only animated if I turn the phone one way and not the other. 1.5 and 2.1 both.

So what's your overall opinion about the phone, anymore pros or cons?

Jeph, please tell me you looked into the internal memory?

Thanks!

So total speculation here but I went into my BB to pre-order today, got a first day appointment so I was psyched. Got even more pumped when I heard the other associate talking to another customer who was looking at the incredible, I overheard her saying she wasn't getting her EVO on Friday. That somewhat jives with some of the people saying it drops on the 22ndish. Now I don't know if she was getting an early model to help sell the phones or if they were going to actually drop then. Guess i will find out if I get a call on friday saying the phones ready for pickup. Lets all hope for the best!

My local sprint rep says the have an evo and i can come to the store tomorrow when he is there to play with it. I will be glad to share my experience with everyone tomorrow night when I get home. I hope his manager doesn't renege on the offer when I show up. Here is hoping for the best!!!
