i'll give you it's better than an iphone 8gb but you cant tell me it's better than having a slot on the side. i hate the idea of powering down and taking it apart, but yeah it's better than a lot of the alternatives

Question:

I can upgrade my line at Best Buy and get a Hero for the meanwhile since I sold my Hero then exchange for an Evo when it comes out right?

A certain eastern bloc country in which I would rather throw myself off a bridge then go back to.

Just frozen. The evo has it under the battery. Which means you have to remove the battery to get to. But is it easier to remove the battery and change cards or delete and replace 8-16gigs of cards?

For me, with the blackberry, it is like 15 secs. Pop off the back cover, pull battery, insert card, battery cover, phone on.

With out micro sd card you need to boot pc, attach phone to pc, delete old information, and wait to load. If I am in the middle of a line waiting for a plane. The last thing I want to do is stop and do that.

I not positive, but i have serious doubts about this phone booting in 15 secs. or anywhere close to that

I just find it interesting that 3 years ago the iphone was 8gb. here we are 3 years later and the new "top of the line" phone comes with a whopping.........8gb.

I read on some other forums that the screen is made out of plastic rather then glass. I hope its false cuz such a big screen has room for lots of scratches. The information came from a so called advocate. I assumed that it would have had the same glass screen as the HD2. Does anyone have any insight? Its not totaly a deal breaker, but a shame nonetheless.

I hate double posting but it seems that my question just got ignored or no one read it. I kinda think its a important aspect of the phone, to know if it is glass or plastic. Am I the only one that thinks so.

I think it's been answered several times (at least I've seen it mentioned) that it has a glass screen.

Can you provide a link where it might say that it is glass? I have seen all sorts of complete specs sheets and nothing mentions the screen other then size and tft lcd.

Hi, I'm new here but have been following this thread and learning so much. I'm really looking forward to the 4th! I can't wait to get back with Sprint and with the EVO!

Now, I know no one is going to believe me, but I pre-ordered with SPRINT!! On Sat I went to BB and pre-ordered, because of the instant rebate. Later that day I went by the Sprint kiosk (sp?) just to see if they knew anything I didn't about the evo. I said "so you guys don't do pre-orders?" and the store manager told me they were making a list and could put me on it. I said I'd let him know...I didn't really believe him. I called BB and asked if I could return the gift cards and be taken off the pre-order list. They told me I could as long as it was done that day. So that's what I did.

I then went back to talk to Sprint and had my name and phone number put on a list (no deposit). I also asked if they had a military discount and the store manager told me it 15% but he'd give me 25%. I still wasn't sure, but the 25% discount sounded good. They told me I'd get a call on the 2nd to let me know what time I could be there to pick it up. Ok, fine.

Well, today I got a call from the store manager. He said they're now taking a $50 deposit and that would hold my phone for 48 hrs day of release and if I didn't pick it up they would refund my $. I paid for two deposits and got a receipt.

I know Sprint doesn't usually do pro-orders and maybe it was just this location, I'm not sure. But I'm really excited about it and just wanted to let you know maybe some stores can.

Why would you choose to return your BB pre-order and pre-order from Sprint instead? You do realize that there's still a Mail-in-rebate for Sprint and BB is Instant rebate.

You could've easily purchased from BB, gotten an instant rebate, and then gone back to that store to have that manager give you the 25% off your bill.

Sounds like a third-party retailer and not an official Sprint kiosk. I still don't understand why you would give up your pre-order at BB. Anyway, enjoy your EVO!

One for me one for my wife :)

If anybody is still looking for a micro sd card. I found this Transcend 16GB MicroSD Memory Card w/ SD Adapter, TS16GUSDHC2 after a little research last week. I didn't post the link then because it seemed too good to be true, but I ordered and got it yesterday and the card seems to work fine, it is class 2, but for 34.99 with free shipping I'll take it.

edit: I almost forgot, in the promo code section enter maymemory and you'll get an extra 10% off. ends up being just over $31.

i just got the one i ordered from this link you gave us and i put about 1000 songs in it, put it in my phone and it says sd card damage. so then i format it and put about 20 songs and it worked fine...so then i format it again, thinking it was gonna work with the 1000 songs, and it said the same thing, sd card damage. im i doing something wrong here...i hope you or anyone else can help me out.

how many of you are purchasing the phone on another line within your family plan that is eligible for an upgrade and then switching it to your own personal line?

I do know about the MIR with Sprint and that's okay. But I didn't know the store manager could still give me the discount if I didn't order there because the military discount is usually only 15% and he said he could give me 25%. Either way I'll still be getting the Evo on day of release!!

I'm not sure... what makes it a third party retailer and not an official Sprint kiosk? It looked like Sprint and that's all they were selling. Hmmm.... I'm just happy I'll be getting the phone!

I have to say it would be nice to have more memory but if it expands to 32 GB then thats cool for me. I have alot of music and shows/movies on my ipod touch which is 32GB and it does take quite a bit to fill up. I know some of you out there have insane amounts of media and it wouldnt take much for you to fill up a 32GB but for an average user like me 32GB is straight.

yeah but are you willing to pay $200 for a 32gb card?

Well, it was the decent thing for you to do because it's giving him the sale. All good. Just wanted to be sure that you were aware about the MIR, just in case you didn't know.

I dunno, mine works fine. Loaded mine with a couple of movies and it plays good. I did have a momentary freak out because it wouldn't read in my laptop, but then I tried it in my fiancee's laptop and it works fine. I think it might have something to do with the fact that my laptop is almost 5 years old and the card is a micro sdhc?? I'm not an expert buy maybe there is one here who can clarify if this is an issue with your phone too? Worst case scenario you can call customer support and return it.

I own the Kingston 16 GB memory card and it works fine. i have about 2 GB left and everything still runs like it did the first time I got it about 5 months ago
