Official "Goodbye Droid X" Thread

Unless you're in a 4G market, save your money. I did several side by side, simultaneous tests and my unrooted 1st generation Droid X was just as fast. Your DX's are not as obsolete as you think......

I wouldn't be moving because I think the X is obsolete, I'd be moving because I'm a bit bored with my X and I need something new to play with :D

4G, more RAM, better screen, faster and better processor are just welcomed extras :D:D:D

Haha.....yes being gadget freaks leads to boredom ...... and a lighter bank account. Been spending the last several days bucking up on rooting. I rooted my D1 with great results but I haven't kept up with rooting the DX and see that the process is a bit different. I just hope I can squeeze some performance increases.....the D1 yielded excellent speed improvements.

I don't really buy this. But if it is entirely honest, then I can only assume it's blur slowing the phone down. Since Blur can be replaced with whatever you want, that would drastically change things.

I still have my Rooted X, and every ROM I've tried has been pretty quick. But when I played with the display Bionic at my store, withing minutes I noticed a very measurable difference in the phones speeds. Especially when opening apps like the camera. I agree with your 4G point in a way because if you are not in a 4G market this upgrade might not be significant enough for you. But 4G is most certainly not all this phone has to offer.
