Question: I tried the fix from XDA Developers where you change the SUPL/CP Settings and other Settings, in order to get some improvement on the GPS functionality. Should I now change those chages back to the original state in order to take full advantage of this OTA fix, or will the fix simply overwrite these changes? What do you think? Sremick, you did a great job for us all.
Since my last post I have successfully unrooted and then rerooted. It is insanely easy to do on this phone. My plan is to unroot once I get the notice that the update is available, do the update, and then reroot.

mind sharing details on how? Also will u lose root required sideloaded apps when you unroot?
EDIT: I just read the vibrant unroot thread on XDA, same method here?
I smell fake.
I smell fake.

Yeah, I think it was just good PR on the part of Samsung. They twittered to me this morning that they don't know if/when they'll release an update.
I did not pinpoint anyone as BSer. These call centers - in general a mere mortal can rarely reach any truth via those channels. The chain of phone reps, managers, and managers' managers - they confuse each other, and it is not even in their domain to know what some tech team somewhere upstream will decide. Besides AT&T would have to test and approve this fix.[DT];1235636 said:I actually know the OP from at least one other messageboard, and he's pretty solid individual and helpful on technical subjects (networking, etc.). Just based on my previous exposure, I would say +his+ post is legitimate and it doesn't sound like his source would have any reason to fabricate anything. Of course there could be misinformation further upstream (at Samsung), but I'm going to be positive about it until I hear otherwise![]()
I don't doubt the OP, but he heard it from AT&T who heard it from SAMSUNG Tech support, who heard it from some Manager, who was told by???[DT];1235636 said:I actually know the OP from at least one other messageboard, and he's pretty solid individual and helpful on technical subjects (networking, etc.).
