Same here.

My version was Nordic before the update, the phone is bought in Norway from a Norwegian vendor and I still got the English version. Only reason I can think of is that I use English menus on the phone.

Oh well.
 
Really? I thought the extra connectors on the Hero's cable were just for the headset.

Are you sure you have HTC sync and all your USB drivers set up?

Was trying on a Windows 7 PC (am a linux user) - but that seems to have trouble with it, so trying on Vista now.

Also had problems with it on my Windows 7 laptop, tried on my other windows 7 pc and it worked. Was for the previous ROM though

Installing now on ordinary USB. Failed on Win 7 for some reason, so now using a XP Virtual Machine and the upgrade seems to be running fine.
 
Anyone from Orange UK has managed to get an FOTA update? I am still waiting. Tried advancing date/year-no luck do far? What is Orange doing?

I think Orange are being really slow on this one. I have spoken with them on several occasions and they don't seem to know about any update.
 
According to zdnet, Orange told them just after the HTC press release about the 2.1 update that its coming in the next few weeks.

Its in the 2nd comment after the news story.

Version number on that Danish/Nordic update seems a bit odd.

ROM version 2.73.405.6_R

Surely that can't be the 2.1 update?
 
It's not the 2.1 one. I updated it just now, and still 1.5. However my buildnumber is now 2.73.405.94. No clue what changed tho.

Not 2.1. The one I downloaded in Norway was Firmware version: 2.73.405.6_R.

The old one was 2.73.405.5.

The new one is still android version 1.5 and it immediately came up with the FOTA update after reboot. Don't know what HTC is playing at, but it is still Android 1.5. STRANGE
 
Im posting this here, because people who receive the update get this picture.

Just a minute ago I booted up my phone using the Home and Power buttons and the Triagle with a phone next to it showed up... Any ideas? :confused:
 
They said ONE preupdate that would be FOTA. That would make this the second preupdate which was followed by another FOTA, so that makes 3 preupdates.....

No it is not.

The pre-update is a 4.5 MB update that comes over the air. This was a full firmware (104 MB) available on the NORDIC sites and it is still Android 1.5.

I installed new firmware.
Immediately after install and reboot, the phone requested to download the pre-update OTA. (I had already downloaded the pre-update earlier and installed it before I did this last firmware update.

This is very strange. Anyone found a change overview for this odd firmware update.

Try pressing Home + Power again briefly. That gives me a menu with three options (reboot, apply update.zip and factory reset)
