i downloaded the hacked netflix app from xda .I am not rooted and it works great i am shocked how well it buffers I work at night in a remote area and have a hard time with signal 3 g especialy .I watched all of die hard with nice detail not a glitch.I do not know why netflix only released it for htc ,lg and samsung but this will hold me over untill the x version is released .I am currious how much better it will work on wifi or with the droid x gingerbread update here is the link i downloaded link one and it worked fine.Dowload to your phone and install

I have been running this for a few days now and it is awesome. I had to fly yesterday and had an hour to kill in the airport and netflix was right there at my fingertips. I just saved the app to my dropbox and installed it. Works great. Thank you to all the developers who keep righting the wrongs.

How do I get this on my X?
 
Awesome! We just signed up for netflix because the kids are out of school for the summer. My wife could get it on her iphone but I couldn't on my X and was getting tired of having it rubbed in my face. :D

I have found the answer to my own question. I am a noob lol. I had the file already I just didn't know what to do with it. I found out that I needed to download the app installer from the market then have said file on the root of my sd card. Ran installer. Hello netflix. :)
 
yeah this has been out for like 2 weeks blogs have just been pretty slow to report it, was posted in the other netflix thread too a lil while back
 
The latest version of the Netflix app in the market can be installed on a stock Droid X running Froyo... and it works fine.

Works on stock Froyo now... so no need of Gingerbread just to watch movies. What's frustrating for me, as a DroidX and and XOOM owner is that Netflix is now working great on the device that I have no desire to watch a movie on but still won't run on the larger screen tablet. Grrr. Honeycomb support please!
 
Ok what am I missing? I have been out of the country and I am back but the hacked version no longer works and I don't see a version in market. It shows my queue but says can't reach server when I try to play. Maybe they are having server issues?

mruno's link to Droid Life is where to go to get the latest version from the Market. Since Droid X isn't "officially supported" it won't show up when you search for it from the Market app on your phone. You have to download the .apk and install it manually.
 
Thank you. Tried 1.2.0 hacked and 1.2.1 you pointed out. Must be a network issue. Used to work great.
 
I had this working on my Droid X 2.3 for a week or so. Had to do a master reset due to other bugs. Now when I try to download it to reload. The download keeps saying "unsuccessful" and stops. Any ideas?
 
This works perfect on Droid X running GB .596 all stock (I should add that both the first version, hacked I believe, and the un-hacked one also linked in this post both work perfectly)
