question...

I normally get $50 off my NE2, if I decide to sign up for a 1 year with this phone will I get any money off towards the phone or no? Thanks in advance!

To those having trouble with Adobe and the links:
Adobe was giving me a hard time with Anon's link also. I ended up getting so angry at adobe I downloaded a free trail of PDF Suite and it worked fine. I tried updating adobe even un/reinstall and it still kept coming up with errors. PDFS hasnt had any issues!!

from the article
the Droid Incredible also comes bundled with an 8 gig microSD card out of the box, where the N1 gives only a 4 gig card.

where is this guy getting his info?

The PDF linked on the front Phandroid page. Basically the marketing presentation packet for sales. It says on page 25, that an 8gb microsd card comes preinstalled. This of course contradicts the "8gb internal AND a microsd slot. Some people have posted about this but rather than attack Verizon marketing for (supposedly) poor information, some of the Phandroid vets have attacked the posters pointing this out.

As of now we STILL do not have a uniform spec about the 8gb (one doc say micorsd card and another says internal) both are deceptively the same.

are you SURE they putting vz nav in it? it is not in motorola doid as it is redundant and the google is free and better.

The specs say VZ Nav and Backup assistant neither are on the Eris.

But we do get 7 screens!!! does the "droid" by moto still only have 3 with the 2.1 update?

Hi, I've been a long time lurker and joined not too long ago to see the leaked PDF file of the manual and this is my first post! I was just wondering if anyone could answer two questions: Does anyone know if it will have pinch to zoom in the browser like the iPhone and N1 and does it for sure have video capture? I wasn't sure about these two questions as the announcement on Verizon's website doesn't say anything about them. Thanks for any help! :)

EDIT: Also, does it have notification lights? Will there be apps to customize these?

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE READ THE LAUNCH GUIDE:

How much thicker than the original do you think the extended battery is? It's hard to tell from the picture!

Page 1 of the launch package, under services, states "VZ Navigator via the Android Market", so I'm guessing from that statement it won't come preloaded. But, using their latest version right now, who would want it when you have G-Maps for no extra charge:confused:

welcome! Yes and Yes

I believe it has a notification LED, idk about customizing the LED

so why bother with BB, what's the advantage? Automatic rebate? Is that it?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I distinctly remember that if you opt for insurance with BB, you get BB's insurance program which is "new" replacement and zero deductible (or there's an option for that). With Verizon, it's a refurb and $50 deductible (or more?). Also, if you decide to return or swap the phone with Verizon, I'm pretty sure you have to ship it back (can't walk into a store with it) for online sales, whereas you can with BB. But BB may have a different return/exchange policy.

yes stock android only has 3. but you can download helix launcher from the market and it will give you the choice to make it anywhere from 3-5-7 home screens plus it has the quick links at the bottom of the screen. im using it on my eris right now.

If you say that the documents contradict each other, most of the posters that take exception are those that are trying to say that maybe trusting the Android developers and other contributors that actually had hands-on experience with the device are the ones to trust in this regard.

My first post here...
Hope someone can help me out!!!!
I got a enV Touch last October, but I wanna get an Incredible ASAP, which means I gotta upgrade my phone, but I got my cell from cellular sales (a wierd sub company of vzw). If I upgrade the phone online, how am I gonna deal with my enV touch? Mail it back? Or just go to Cellular sales in person?

Merci beaucoup!!!

Yeah, I think that's right. I think for the first 30 days you have to return your phone from where you purchased, but after the 30 days, you can take any vzw phone into the vzw stores.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Question: who in this thread is paying retail for the Incredible?

Another question: If you aren't paying retail for it, would you if you weren't upgrade-eligible?

Out of all of my 5 lines, none of them are eligible for promo pricing until next year. $600 makes me a little sad, especially considering I'll be lucky to get 1/3 of that for my Eris on Craigslist or eBay. :(

I "rented" the Droid on line and returned to store after 28 days,no problem.

OK, all the info of the last few days has brought something to my mind that I feel I need to share. I think it will be of particular interest to one of our members. I'm a little concerned realizing that this could be somewhat polarizing but nonetheless feel it's important to bring up. So...

It will NOT be named the Incredible upon release! Quote me on that! Heck, I'd wager my wine cellar!

From a technical point of view, Montana Man *was* correct. Our beloved phone was not released as the Incredible. It was released as the Droid Incredible which is quite obviously a different name. Now, I realize that this comes down to nitpicking but I believe that he was, again in a technical sense, correct in the quote above.

So, I vote that he gets to keep the wine cellar, enjoy a good bottle as he sets up his new phone, perhaps show good faith by sending Anon or the Mods a bottle and maybe even bring a bottle to the reunion.

Now, let the flaming and agreement begin...
:D;):rolleyes::):D

(To be clear, this is in the spirit of FUN and CELEBRATION!)
