Question: who in this thread is paying retail for the Incredible?

Another question: If you aren't paying retail for it, would you if you weren't upgrade-eligible?

Out of all of my 5 lines, none of them are eligible for promo pricing until next year. $600 makes me a little sad, especially considering I'll be lucky to get 1/3 of that for my Eris on Craigslist or eBay. :(

Yeah... I'd hesitantly pay full price. Way to addicted to this phone to let anything stand in the way!

yes it did.

stocks, footprints, quick office, amazon mp3 store. preloaded onto the rom and not being able to uninstall them. verizon wanted these apps on the phone, you might not use them, but you cant get rid of them. i have yet to use any of those apps. hence the term bloatware. apps u dont use but cant get rid of.

That isn't Verizon bloatware. Those come with the Sense UI as far as I was aware.

I give up on trying to catch up!!! I hate missing all the witty banter!

I need to look extra INCREDIBLE when I pick up my phone. I'm thinking a red tank top and a denim mini skirt and my new wedge strappy heels! I gotta look good in the pics I take soon as I get my phone....:p:p

Alright folks, while today has been incredible it's also been incredibly frustrating with the forum maintenance and down time. To continue the dialog until these issues are permanently resolved and to ease the load on the servers lets take the chat to real time and see how it works out...

Having said that, please navigate to:

freenode Web IRC (qwebirc)

and join the channel ##DroidIncredible

See you there!

Wow Anon that is a great idea but really hard to read and follow any other chat sites out there a little more user friendly?

None. Complaining about crippled wi-fi and Verizon bloatware these days is simply troll speak. They changed their policies in the Fall last year and the grace period for tolerating the same broken record claims is long over. Making statements like this singles you out as a competing network fanboy or Apple groupie, neither of which are worth dignifying.

Eeek! Can you quote the original poster too?

But thanks for the clarification, I agree with you.

Goodnight Incredible thread. It's been fun lurking, but off to bed I must go. Hopefully you will feel better and not have so many issues tomorrow.

I don't know about Amazon, but the BB insurance plan does not cover lost phones. That just about seals it for me.

I spoke with an Amazon Wireless rep a couple days ago and was told that Amazon Wireless is only providing the phone, Verizon is responsible for everything else. So insurance is still optional and is available from Asurion but through Verizon.

HTH.

teeter, visual vm, peep, pdf viewer. point is they are on the phone. im pretty sure Sense ui doesent need teeter in order for sense to run properly. and htc didnt put it on the phone. all of their stuff is integrated into the sense ui you wouldnt see them in the app drawer anyways.

no, no, no dude that's HTC's stuff and android's too. Verizon doesn't care about stocks HTC made footprint and added office and amazon almost comes preloaded like itunes on iphone. Hence why do phones come preloaded with browser. What the hell why do phones come preloaded as phones lol.

That may be bloatware... But it's not vzw bloatware. Stocks, footprints, and open office are all part of HTC's Sense UI. Amazon mp3 is part of the android OS. It is on all android phones.

I think you are confused. Peep is HTC's Twitter client. The whole point of Sense UI is that it is Android with HTC's special stuff, including their own programs and widgets.

I'm pretty sure I read in the PDF today that HTC specifically DOES put Teeter on it's phones w/ SenseUI.

I'm so exited, and I just can't hide it!!!!

i guess i should have been more clear.

the phone is going to come with apps that you are not going to use. but you cant get rid of. hence the term bloatware. sorry if there was some confusion from the original question asked and the answer that has been given.

all this news today, and the damn thread down... whatever, glad to see it back up :D

Alright I know this has been addressed and rehashed a billion times, but wtf is the deal with all the materials released so far saying that there's capability for only 16gb sd? Can't be a typo or mistake everywhere, right?

Guys... just like the droid and eris, you won't see all this verizon crap all over the phone. It clearly says VZ Navigator is available in the android marketplace. to me, that's not saying it's going to sit there on your home screen. you can get it from the marketplace if you choose. i don't know why people are so worried about it, just read what it says.

verizons not locking down anything either... just like the droid. you can fully use gps and google maps, nav, etc. so what if there are just a few pre installed apps like skype mobile or NFL. if that's your biggest concern, you're in good shape.

Why does it say
The Swype Beta is CLOSED

on their website? o_O

They have had a overwhelming amount of people wanting to use their new keyboard... So they are no longer accepting new beta applicants at this time.

In other words, you can't get swype right now unless you root your phone, they reopen their beta, or they release the full version of their keyboard on their website or in the market.

Sorry!
