***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

I already have everything planed out. My droid is already sold for $350, I'm going to pre-order the incredible (hope they ship it before the 29th), now the question is, does anyone know if the incredible will have a charging cradle like the moto droid has? I just love that :-D

Gonna have a hard time with that one. They will lock the ESN on the phone. But calling verizon and explaining may be all thats needed.

No. If it's like any other insurance, the lost or damaged phone becomes the property of the insurer once the claim is paid. So if a lost or stolen phone were found/recovered, it should be turned over to the insurer.

In any event, I suspect the ESN would be locked and you wouldn't be able to activate it.
 
Errr.... Why does this phone have to come out in like 12 days, and why is it a Thursday? Is that normally how it is? Oh well, what can I do. I need to sell my Eris soon, but I don't want to be without a phone for too long.

I don't know.. but as most typing is done sideways, personally, I don't see the difference, fwiw.

I have the same question too, as i had the eris and found typing with one hand the phone would slip and it wasnt very ergonomical.

To those who have replied to this already, it's not the screen size that is the issue, clearly it's big enough, he's asking about the large gap between the screen and the bottom of the phone and how that will effect typing. Meaning, will our little thumbs be able to reach the top of the keyboard.

I'm assuming you mean for one hand typing (with the thumb), as when you're typing with two hands, you can hold the phone at any position that's comfortable, and is not an issue. Some iPhone users, however, have reported that it's difficult to type the letters closest to the edge of the screen given the very small bezel. I feel the Incredible was designed with a tiny bit more space that should make this enjoyable.

But to try to answer your question, while i am worried a bit about that gap, i think that the width of the phone is more important to typing on it. The Eris was not wide enough for my hands (31 year old male w/ average sized hands). The incredible is a tad wider and appears to be similar thickness to an iphone/itouch, and i've had good experiences with one handed typing on those..so i'm looking forward to the experience on the Inc.

The gap does concern me...but i have faith that the peeps at HTC know a little bit about how to design an ergonomically sound phone.....

but we won't know until we know...

On the droid, I found it highly awkward to type on the hardware keyboard because of its asymmetric design. Honestly I don't think it'll be as much of a problem on the Inc because of the balance of the phone. (The droid has a different center of gravity because it slides out making it "longer" in front of you.)

On a different note, try Swype. It really is much faster than even my blackberry tour's keyboard. I'm no speed demon micro touch typist, and swype definitely helps tremendously.
